Guest guest
I have unexplained infertility at this point. I had some uterine issues (uterine precancer), but that was fixed. I have polycystic ovarian syndrome, so I get a lot of ovarian cysts. I've had 2 artificial inseminations (IUI) done. The first time, I got pregnant but miscarried. The second time, I had TWELVE eggs, but still did NOT get pregnant. The odds were tremendous that I'd have multiples, even. I'm going to do a 3rd try at IUI later on in October, and my fertility doctor had mentioned that sometimes Acupuncture helps with fertility cycles, so I decided to try it. My health insurance has a list of acupuncturists that they have a copay agreement with, so I picked the nearest one. My first acupuncture visit was yesterday. I'm seeing Dr. Su-Cheng Yu in Tracy, California. Anyone know her? She's a middle-aged lady with a sweet smile. I'm not sure if she specializes in fertility, but she did show me a picture of some children that had been born to a lady she had treated. Dr. Yu also told me my pulse was very deep and rapid. Anyone want to inform me what this might mean? I'm a medical assistant, so I know my pulse is high (it runs around 100 usually) for my respiration rate (I breathe around 8 times per minute). I'm just wondering what the " deep " part might mean relative to my health. Dr. Yu explained to me about the canals and then stuck the needles in my legs and my abdomen. I did feel some wierd nerve-type sensations with some of the leg ones. Very interesting experience. I didn't feel different afterward, except one of my knees was popping and feeling like I'd had a good run on it. I suppose this is normal? I'm to go back once a week for now. Anything else I should do to help myself out? I tried to explain the cysts on my ovaries always being there, but sometimes they are larger than others and sometimes small enough to be of no consequence, but we had a bit of a language difficulty. I also tried to explain that I had 2 D & Cs (dilation and curettage of my uterus) because of the uterine precancer, but not sure I got that across, either. Just looking for any helpful hints here.
