" I have been notified through the grapevine

from reliable sources that is considering

charging a fee for their groups.

Current rumors include a $4.95/mo. membership

fee or possibly a $60 annual fee per group for group

owners. "

I noticed this on a Technical Support site.

Do people have any views.

For myself, I will not join any groups if there is a charge.

This is not something that you need worry about. For one thing, at this

stage it is just rumor. It may or may not be true. For another, I will

simply move the group to somewhere that doesn't charge.

There are still alternatives. There almost always are alternatives in

anything. If there are not existing alternatives, alternatives frequently

can be created.

So please take this discussion to private email.

BTW, I know list owners and moderators besides myself who make it a point to

always be aware of alternatives.<G>

I think it's a shame because not only do people go to to discuss important issues and find valuable information, many people use them to quickly get help and support for physical as well as psychological issues. If they charge people there won't be as many people participating and it will be harder them to find support.

I think should find more ways to get more people to use their groups but charging is definetely not the answer.

Thanks. I'll keep this in mind along with others in case we ever do have to

move.
