Following are a few clips from an email I just got from another forum. This is absurd. The Dietitians Association is moving quickly with the help of their lobbyists and lots of $$ all the way up to the pharmaceutical companies to get a bill passed in Wisconsin that would make it illegal for anyone who is not a registered dietitian to teach people about health-promoting nutrition. * Pending WDA (Wisconsin Dietetic Association) licensing bill (2008 bills: SB394 & AB 742) will monopolize dietary and nutritional information. WDA is a state affiliate of the ADA (American Dietetic Association). ADA dietary guidelines include: margarine (hydrogenated fat) is OK, there is no nutritional difference between organic and conventionally produced foods and aspartame is safe. * WDA licensure bill would allow RD's (Registered Dietitians) to collect Medicare payments. Only ADA trained individuals and a few exempted trade organizations (see pg 3 SB394 & AB 742) could provide dieetary services. The bill defines “dietetics and nutrition care services to mean "the integration and application of principles derived from the sciences of food, nutrition, management, communication, biology, physiology, behavior, and the social sciences to achieve and maintain optimal human health."Some other states have passed such laws. In Ohio, Pam Popper ND had to pay $200,000 and Patty Shipley ND had to pay $30,000, in fines and attorney fees for the "unlicensed practice of Dietetics." They are not allowed to recommend water, protein, books or avoidance of junk foods, as this may cause a dietary change! They were threatened with jail. * Go to www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0lH23RFFpE to watch the video: Making Nutrition A Crime. If the law is passed it would make the production of this and other nutrition videos illegal.--~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~To to this group, send email to: MedicalConspiracies- (AT) googl (DOT) com
