Guest guest
Hello Geraldine and all, You are right - cow's milk does present some dangers and I am slowly coming around to the idea that it really is not good for a person at all. I'm not ready to kick my Nestle Quik addiction just yet (LOL!) but I can see why so many folks have... And to quote Jack Lalane " Only baby cows need to drink cows milk - are you a baby cow? " hahahaha.... I think he is probably right. The thing that worries me about soy is that so much of it contaminated with heavy pesticides and is also genetically engineered. We can thank the Monsanto corporation for that. I think that is more scary that cow's milk in alot of ways. So I never use soy unless it is totally organic and that is hard to find consistently and is kind of expensive. I agree that soy can be better for some folks than dairy but if you consume alot of it I would double check to make sure it is organic. Just my two cents worth... Peace! Do some research and you will find that cow's milk contains way more estrogen than soy milk, along with other lactating hormones, antibiotics, bovine growth hormone, etc, etc. Cows, like humans, throw off large amounts of hormones into their milk, to help their children grow!! Only, cow babies need lots more of these chemicals than human babies. Human milk contains estrogen, progesterone, oxytocin, and lots more, to help our children develop, only in appropriate amounts. In addition, cows milk always presents the danger of allergies to the protiens and casien, infection from E. Coli and similar dangerous bacterias, listeria, etc. It is much more common than people think. You most likely will never hear of soy being infected with these. So, at the risk of sounding preachy I will stick with soy, and recommend it to others, my children have done very well with it. > > Blessings, > Geraldine
