Diet and Disease in the Media

What they say: Low rates of cancer and heart disease in Japan are due to a low fat diet and high consumption of soy products. In the countries on the Mediterranean, it’s their high consumption of olive oil, grains, and vegetables, and lower consumption of saturated fat. In France they have a level of saturated fat similar to what we have, so it must be their red wine that protects them.

What they don’t say:

We rarely, if ever, hear that sugar consumption is much lower in countries other that the United States and the United Kingdom.

It’s lower in France, and even lower in the countries on the Mediterranian and in Asia.

Koreans have a diet similar to the Japanese and have a similar low rate of cancer and heart disease, but they don’t eat a lot of soy foods.

In each of these three areas there is little or no consumption of trans fatty acids from hydrogenated oils, junk or processed foods such as breakfast cereals with additives, preservatives, and artificial colors.

------At first glimpse, this is the way things may seem to the

casual observer, however when we really start to examine the

underlying facts, we see that the real atrocity " lies " in the

misrepresentation of the facts as is reported in the media, the

rulings of the FDA which limit our choices and so on and so forth!

Much has been said regarding the way the pharmaceutical companies

are deceiving the public. What is not so commonly known is that

special interests are at the root of the current food " deception " as

well..

I'll give you just one example of this.

Numerous articles and internet sites confirm for us the little

known fact (in America anyway) that Japan, for instance, has banned

aspartame and is using other more healthy sweeteners..

There are other countries that have done this as well, however Japan

is the one that comes to mind because they have approved stevia for

use in their soft drinks!

In fact they use stevia in many of their supermarket items as well.

This I believe is the most important reason for their longevity.

Think of the implications here!

Our options in this country are limited by special interests and

the FDA working in

Collaboration to keep us in the dark about our other more healthy

options!

The deception that is that we're facing in this country at the

moment is " evil " and this is evidenced on these health groups more

than anywhere else! Their deceit has been so deeply ingrained that

there are very few who are open to alternatives.

I have been on a host of internet sites just this past week which

plant Such distrust of alternatives in the minds of their readers

that it just breaks my heart. Our freedoms of choice have been and

are being brought into question here!!

I believe it is time that we as a people join our voice in protest

or we are going to lose our last few options to a more healthy life…

and I'm not just talking about supplements either.

If the FDA had `allowed' stevia to be used in food products, we

would not have the epidemic of diabetes that is raging across

America today!! We need to take a stand! And do it now. This has

gone far enough in my opinion. We are being `kept' in a state of

disease and sickness so that these companies can continue to keep up

their production of these poisons and keep them flowing into the

American people.

Whether it be `sugar' as we know it, or aspartame or transfats…if

we continue eating them we may as well draw up our last will and

testament today, because we will need it soon!

I have often said that these bags of sugar should have skull and

crossbones on them. I haven't had a bag of refined sugar in my house

for several years now and it's going to continue to be that way

until I draw my last breath. I am on a crusade against hydrogenated

fats and now refined sugar as well!

I agree, these two in combination with aspartame as well, are at

the root of the vast majority of our health problems.

Immediately after my heart attack when I discovered that several

European countries ban transfats, my high blood pressure `rose' as

well!

The FDA is there to " protect " us???? I'm sorry, I think NOT! Enuf

SAID!

Thanks for the confirmation and God Bless You! Those of us who are

in the know, need to spread the word. I have doing this for close to

five years now. It will not be done unless we ALL join in the fight.

I admire Frank for his untiring work on this list. There are few who

realize the dedication it takes to keep a large list like this

going. He is one in a million! He is not giving up the fight in the

face of great odds.

As I say, we are going to lose the freedoms we have if we don't act.

I'm not talking about calling your congressman; I'm talking about

making the man of the street more aware of their alternatives in

addition to warning them of food dangers, etc. The moment of truth

has come when we can no longer avoid the issues. Complacency will

not work anymore. We are either for alternatives or against them. We

cannot take the middle road. The controversy is heating up, the

messages are subtle but they are taking root. When are we going to

realize our very lives are being threatened? This is the treatment a

six year old receives. We are being told what we can ingest and what

we can't! This is freedom??

I think not!

Regards, JoAnn.
