Hello All. I just wanted to thank you for being a part of the Acupuncture Group!

I appreciate your membership, and your patience with the group. There have been

issues in the past with Spam--- so I have had to switch to moderating emails and

members. I will try to get the emails approved on more of a regular basis.

In other topics- I wanted to ask this of you all. Considering this is the time

of year for seasonal allergies and colds- Are there any dietary therapy

suggestions you would like to share with the group ? What do you suggest to your

patients to help boost their immune system, or to deal with a current cold?

Since some patients may be intimidated by herbs, I find dietary therapy

something user friendly- most people are willing to try a new food.

Thanks again and I look forward to your responses!

Hi, Lauren,

If you interest in food therapy and how to use different food to prevent

and treat allergies and cold. I think most of us here are understand Chinese

medicine and its practice, I'd introduce the web which regarding to food

therapy in Chinese medicine at: _http://anmedicine.com/foodtherapy.html_

(http://anmedicine.com/foodtherapy.html) in Chinese and English.

We have had used SR which suppress virus in the front nasal (cavity) to

prevent and treat early stage of cold; if patient has cold or flu symptoms,

the practitioner must accord Chinese medical theory to differentiation of

wind cold or wind heat or wind wet give a correct treatment (reference to

your text book).

Allergy and cold are the different diseases. It can be cured by Chinese

medicine, but the practitioners have to understand western medicine too when

they practice it. The thymus gland plays a very important role in the

process of the illness. If we understand the importance and the treatment

method, then we could extend the treatment principle to treat autoimmune

diseases (Lupus, hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, MS...), post infectious

autoimmune diseases (Lyme disease, Hepatitis B,C...) and degenerated diseases

(Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, Parkinson's disease...). We always say,

Chinese

medicine treats root of the problem based on the holistic system. What is

the root of the problem? I think you'd agree about that, the root of the

problem is pointing pathologic change of western medicine said. So here is

the different at western medicine try to give patient deficiency part and to

replace its function of destroyed organ, but Chinese medicine is to fix

the organ. There has a pattern, law between the different diseases, if we

realize and use our knowledge competently then these knotty illness could be

treated and cured. Please see the book it just publish by Elsevier called

" Treating Autoimmune Disease with " you can find it online

se-with-Chinese-Medicine_

-with-Chinese-Medicine)

Chinese medicine is a treasure house, it gives us every thing that we need

(in health field). Please contact to me if you are interesting in Chinese

medicine and willing contribute your time on researching Chinese medicine

to help patients!

Sincerely,
