Guest guest Posted October 31, 2001 Report Share Posted October 31, 2001 It's me again.....I got some crystals and clusters today, and from the info I gathered, they were mined 100 years ago. There is ALOT of rust looking stuff in the clusters....is there a way to get rid of that without damaging the crystals? I'm going to let them soak in soapy water over night to see if that helps, but would appreciate any thoughts on this. And guess what?? DH went for the birthday thing on the crystal books, so far I've rec'd Crystal Power Crystal Healing by Michael Gienger and Crystal Healing by Simon Lily. Great books! It's been neglected I think and buried I'm sure somewhere in a box. It's outside now soaking in a dish of vinegar overnight and I'll see how things feel in the morning. Guest guest Posted April 29, 2005 Report Share Posted April 29, 2005 Hi Tammy, soak your crystal in water , then use an old toothbrush to remove the clay. If you have any staining from iron , go to your hardware store and buy a little tub of Wood Bleach- It is Oxalic Acid- follow directions to dissolve, I like to use very hot water, works faster.
