Guest guest
Hi All, I have a question... Does anyone know of a stone from China, literally translated from the Chinese characters as 'wood fish' stone. The japanese read it as " mokugyou " ...I don't know how the Chinese read it... Anyway, I bought a tea pot and 5 cups made out of it and you put tea or whatever liquid you want to in it. It's remarkable. putting the liquid into the stone to create the exlixir. What ever I put into it and pour from that teapot and drink from the cup has a different taste and a much softer feeling. The explanation paper says that it is good for cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. can't make out the rest of it. Anyone got any ideas on what we call it in english??? love, light and peace, Barbara, in Tokyo

Hi Barbara! I hadn't heard of it before, but I asked on a different list to see if anyone had heard of it. One of the members responded with: " Wood fish stone seems to be a metamorphic sandstone " , and the person found this on internet : The Ecological Environment Characteristics of Longevity Villages in Changqing County, Shandong Province by LI Riª²bang, TIAN Jianª²an, WANG Wuª²yi, YANG Linª²sheng, and HE Yang The ecological environment of longevity villages was investigated in Zhangxia to wn, Changqing county, Shandong province. The samples of ecoª²environmental materials, including from rock to soil, drinking water, grain, vegetables and hair have been collected, and determined their life elements concentration. The comparitive study on life elements content in ecoª²environmental materials in longevity villages with that in control villages was made in order to explore the relation between environment factors and longevity. The result was shown that there are obvious environmental characteristics in longevity villages of Zhangxia town: (1) The natural environment is good and the human environment is propitious in these villages. The result is t hat the decrepit process of human body is delayed; (4) There are rich minerals in wood-fish stone (a metamorphic sandstone) in longevity villages. It is used f or making various tea utensils. There are various life elements in wood-fish sto ne. The essential life elements will be dissolved into tea water slowly and slow ly when making tea by that tea utensil. So that it increase the intake of life e lements in human body. Guest guest
I found this: Wooden Fish Stone Wooden Fish Stone is mined from Mount Tai. It's similar to the wooden fish beaten by Buddhist priests when chanting scriptures in colour, veins and sound. Its colour is that of padauk with close texture and clear veins. The works of art inscribed from it is plain. It contains many kinds of chemical elements which are needed in the human body, such as strontium, copper, zinc and oxygen. Drinking the wooded fish stone mineral water, people can delay becoming old and feeble, and protect themselves from high blood-pressure and artery stiffening. The wooden fish stone products are produced by Changqing Hotel Jade Production Factory of Changqing County,Jinan City. It includes tea utensils, useful crafts and arts, in more than 50 varieties. Guest guest
This stone is also found in India..and yes, it does impart healing properties. It is very interesting to note here that in olden times, Ayurveda Healers 'potentized' all the herbal ingridients in a kayak shaped ( but pretty much smaller) vessel made out of this very stone. May be to impart certain 'cosmic qualities'? Who knows ?
