Guest guest
Peggy, those were my thoughts too. I left my stones outside last night to soak up the energy. Guest guest
Sharon, Thank you for this lovely posting. As the founder of the system known as " Rock-Medicine " I constantly strive to educate others to the scientific methods of applying stones, crystals and gems. It is a never ending battle to urge folks to use the minerals as tools and not just mystical elusive magic. For this living earth kingdom to be accepted into mainstream medicine requires such. However, the personal and individual joy gained from ritual celebration such as you have described here can only empower us all to appreciate creators gift of the mineral kingdom and base that homage in joy! We explore many different approaches to crystal work and I have found that they all have some value. People are welcome to express their opinons here and discuss their personal work with crystals so long so long as they are polite and tolerant of others. I myself experience the mystical and magical. To me Magic is not at all elusive. I strive to encourage people awaken their intuitive ability to connect with the crystal Deva and recognize the crystals as living companions who share healing energies and information with us. Science and the so called rational mind is only part of the whole and has I think been overvalued at the cost of spiritual and intuitive awareness. I hope someday that mainstream medicine will be open to alterntive, holistic and other forms of healing. Guest guest
hi. i'm not usually vocal in this group, but i am offended by this attitude. " It is a never ending battle to urge folks to use the minerals as tools and not just mystical elusive magic. " i truly feel that both applications are addressed in this group. and quite well for that matter. i am sorry you don't respect others spiritual beliefs. i work with the pagan pride organization trying to educate and inform people about religous freedom. which includes the practice of mystical elusive magic. no one is asking you to adopt the views, but your not agreeing with them does not make them wrong. it's been my experience that when a sentence starts with " i hope i don't offend... " it's because what they are about to say is offensive. please share your knowledge of crystals with us. and please respect us while doing it. thank you denise peace believe , " Sela Randazzo " <sela@t...> wrote: > Sharon, > > Thank you for this lovely posting. Guest guest
Ms. Randazzo- > It is a never ending battle to urge folks to use the minerals as tools and not just mystical elusive magic. For this living earth kingdom to be accepted into mainstream medicine requires such. > Aside from both appreciating and agreeing fully with what Peggy and Denise have put forth I'd also like to say that I find the above attitude to peoples' individual beliefs in and experiences of magic to be off-putting. It makes it hard for people to hear what you have to say when you dishonor the road they walk. Magic is only elusive to those who don't understand its nature and aren't in touch with its medicine. Though I am not pagan and may, as a result, define " magic " differently than those who are, I can say that magic is one of the most tangible forces in life's dance. It is, when respected, also one of the most profoundly healing forces. I think it is a shame to adopt the same limited worldview as those in allopathic medicine, mistakenly relegating the mystical qualities of the stone spirits to something useless, elusive or intangible. The belief in and interaction with magic doesn't preclude one's ability to experience healing. In fact it can often accelerate it. As to the " battle " to encourage people to use the stone spirits as tools, there are those of us that " fight " just as hard to encourage people to adandon these " object based " models and begin to honor the stones as spirits, not things. From that place the interaction becomes one of dancing - a give and take, a back and forth - and not one of simply " using " a stone. In truth though this is no real fight at all. It is best illustrated by example, which includes being kind and respectful, while honoring the sacredness in all of life. It is a gentle offering of a new way, which is not new at all... but rather a return to the timeless wisdom held across indigenous traditions around the planet, a broader recognitions of the stone spirits maintained by men and women that have sacrificed so much to keep that knowledge alive. In fact it was only when I was able to let go of the idea that stones were tools, things or objects to be used, instead recognizing them as spirits and Elders, that I was able to find their real healing medicine. When we enter respectful relationships with the stone spirits they reveal so much more to us. Their medicine becomes clearer, more potent and more readily available. It also becomes more tangible from that place. I respect that fact that you're trying to get stone spirits accepted by the medical community. For some of us this acceptance holds no meaning because we realize that healers around the world have, for centuries upon centuries, long recognized, accepted and celebrated the magic our brothers and sisters in the mineral kingdom offer us flawlessly. I wish you well in your quest and hope that in your questing you can appreciate that others walk a different road. One is no better than the other. Finally when you offer someone a new way through living as a gentle example there's rarely any need to engage in battle or fight anyone at all. This new road becomes appealing not because another road has been denigrated, but because the person presenting the new road embodies its truth in a way that naturally draws people to explore its offerings. This gentleness of spirit erases the belief in the necessity of fighting, while still allowing us to maintain our passion. In the words of Maya Angelou, " Strength partnered with tenderness makes for an unbeatable combination. I wish that more people would be respectful of their beliefs, I as a Wiccan am often judged without being given a chance.I have always tried to be open minded to everyones personal path on this earth. Everyone needs to believe is something to get them through the day and no matter what it is no one has the right to judge them for it. Maybe if more people adapted this policy there would be less anger , hatred and wars. Again thank you for your open minded post Blessed Be Jessica
Guest guest
Very well said Fabeku, you voiced exactly what I was thinking. I too found Ms. Randazzo's tone to be abrasive and rather arrogant. I would like to point out the song from the Disney film Pocahontas: You think you own whatever land you land on, the earth is just a dead thing you can claim, but I know every rock and tree and creature, has a life, has a spirit, has a name. You think the only people who are people, are the people who look and think like you, but if you walk the footsteps of a stranger, you learn things you never knew you never knew, Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon? or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned? can you sing with all the voices of the mountains? can you paint with all the colors of the wind? Come run the hidden pine trails of the forest come taste the sun-sweet berries of the earth, come roll in all the riches all around you, and for once, never wonder what they're worth. How high will the sycamore grow? If you cut it down then you will never know. And you'll never hear the wolf cry to the blue corn moon, for whether we are white or copper skinned, we need to sing with all the voices of the mountains, we need to paint with all the colors of the wind we need to paint with all the colors of the wind we need to paint with all the colors of the wind In light and joy, Michelle On Behalf Of Fabeku Friday, June 24, 2005 8:37 AM Re: [CrystalHW] Full Moon Ms. Randazzo- > It is a never ending battle to urge folks to use the minerals as tools and not just mystical elusive magic.
