Guest guest
here is a bit tfrom several different sources Turtle is the earth Symbolizing protection and a long, blessed life, spiritual qualities. The repetitive circles within the shell pertain to the hoop of life, represents water, source of life, and the womb.Protection, Grounding, Focus, Symbol of the Earth, Connection with the Center, Navigation Skills, Patience, Self-boundaries, Earth Clan Turtle: nurturer, protector, mother energy Many Natives refer to North America as Turtle Island, because their legends say that when the earth was covered with water, Turtle dove to the bottom of the oceans bringing up earth on its back so that the people could have a safe and dry home. Turtle is at home anywhere because it carries its home on its back. It does not become attached to places, for it is free to search for new opportunities wherever they may be found. When they sense danger, or are in uncomfortable and insecure settings, they withdraw into their shell, and are protected. If you have Turtle medicine, you value both the power of the earth, the waters of the earth, and the magic of the heavens, for Turtle symbolizes both the grounding quality of earth energy, and the magic of the mystical. Using Turtle energy can help you achieve real balance in your life and your spirit so that you don't get " stuck in the mud " . Turtle's medicine includes a connection with the center, navigation skills, patience, self-boundaries, associated with the feminine, power to heal female diseases, respecting the boundaries of others, developing new ideas, psychically protecting oneself, self-reliance, tenacity, non-violent defense. Guest guest
Hi, Do research. Learn the lifestyle, seasonal activities, and mating habits of the turtle. Learn all about its behavior. Then you'll see what the lesson is for you. I have several totems. The Great Blue Heron and the hummer, to name two. Both have helped me come to terms with my introversion. I really am a loner, and that's a fine and natural thing. The female hummer has to fight the males for food, makes the nest, incubate the eggs, and feed the young, and teach them everything, all by herself. No man has power over me. :-) Light, love, and laughter, Lorelei --- TMcFX wrote: > Peggy or anyone who would like to respond, > I would love to hear about totem animals. Guest guest
Thanks to Everyone who responded to my post, After hearing about all the wonderful teachings of the Turtle, I now feel honored and reassured I have been given this totem. I can see the places in my life that have been blessed by this energy already! I feel kinda shamed that I was disappointed. Thanks again to all who enlightened me. I want to learn more so I will purchase the book that Cat suggested.
