Guest guest
Some suggestions for your comments. It is not necessary to read it all. Actually within the summary of the Eight Goals (first few pages) is all we need address. (Not all 122 pages). Some ideas.... Goal 1) In reducing major threats to health and well-being of Americans....we can recommend Tai Qi-Qi Gong, recommend the wholistic way of living as taught and practiced in TCM, recommend education about Chinese medicine in it's relationship to incorrect patterns of living. Goal2) Responses to bioterrorism.....strongly suggest as for example that TCM especially Chinese Materia Medica has many beneficial formulations that are actually stronger as in the case of topical or gastrointestinal anthrax (not good enough for inhaled type). Goal 3) TCM as being a comparative low cost form of primary health care in order to treat children and adults who don't now have access to any kind of health care. China in a sense under the cultural revolution which initially embraced allopathic medicine had to switch back to the Barefoot doctors in order to give healthcare to over 1 billion people. And now in China the TCM system is merged with allopathic medicine. Also - TCM has great treatment strategies for HIV/AIDS and mental illnesses. Goal 4) TCM diagnostics can be taken as a model and brought into the 21st century by western science paying attention to the subleties of the wholistic system. Also developing Chinese materia Medica formulations instead of pushing presrip[ted medications. Goal 5) Medical Errors - If TCM was widespread available in the US - the many issues of errors would NOT exist. This would be REAL healthcare instead of supression or sick-care. Goal 6, 7 & 8....I am sure you all can come up with better/other ideas. ALSO - for the future STRATEGIC PLAN this should not be a system DOMINATED by allopathic influences. Thats exactly how the US got into the problem that exists today. You might be a little more subtle than that. Please insure that any and all responses are identified by the individuals profession (acupuncturist) and what State. If you wish - and feel it appropriate - please cc:me as I would like to be able to make sure these get passed on to all those who can help us help. Either way is OK. Hope this answers your concerns. regards, Richard
