floods and such

We had a huge (for SoCal) set of rain storms and the water backed up

into my family room so I've been spending the week trying to get the

fragile objects away from the " flood zone " save the ancient carpet and

so forth washing and drying the towels we have used to sop up the mess

and so forth. I am so glad I finally got a washer and dryer last fall

and I've realized that I don't miss " real Winter " after all. I'll be

back when I get the floor dry.

The storm " washed up " a part Siamese cat that has been living outdoors

after her owner decided she had too many cats and tossed this one

outside apparently because she clashed with the sofa. Anyway our

Menagerie now includes Mocha who seems quite delighted to become an

indoor cat have regular meals and who gets along quite well with our

black cat Tar.

My youngest girl had a friend over just before the storms hit who

brought her younger sister along. She was very attracted to my

crystals and rearranged them with the best of intentions of course. My

first reaction was shock because while it may have looked chaotic to

the children I knew where every thing was . Now however I'm finding

it refreshing because I have to search for a specific crystal i am also

reacquainting myself with old friends and discovering some I had never

really gotten acquainted with. I don't suppose it is really necessary

to throw all your treasures into disorder to refresh your relation

ship and memories but sometimes shaking things up does have a positive side.
