Guest guest
Depends on " who " is " asking God " and what they believe about God and how God works... For instance, the Pilgrims came to America to avoid religious and political persecution and to live their own lives as they see fit (are there any undiscovered continents anywhere? lol), and they " prayed to God " to protect them from the elements, help them find food, shelter, and stay healthy. They also worked their asses off. And some of them froze their asses to death, starved to death, or got sick and died. But they all did it while pursuing their OWN lives and their own ideals. But nowadays every lazy shit who has been conditioned by the last 80 or so years of " handouts " prays to God, to the government, anyone " out there " who will take responsibility for them and blames anyone who has what they want. They think they are " entitled " to something, but they won't lift a damn finger to EARN any of it. Just steal it from someone ELSE who DID EARN their own way. Of course they don't really figure what happens when " the well runs dry " because, after all, the government or " God " or " The Universe " will take care of them. All they have to do is really WANT it and BELIEVE it, and The Universe (God, the government, etc.) will just bless them. It says so in the secret. I know several people who really want to believe that. And then they get pissed off at God or the techniques or the person who is teaching the techniques when the Universe don't comply and tells them to " wish in one hand, shit in the other, and see which one fills up first! " I do have a world of respect for people who " ask God, " but then actually DO something " as if God gave them the basic ability to go get something done. " Sincerely, Jim >William Leigh <william4x5 >Apr 27, 2009 7:49 PM > > Foundations of Study > > > Just " go up and ask God " is often a little over simplified (but sometimes works rather well!-). > >
Guest guest
Jim and Group, The " just go up and ask God " bit was a little sarcasm about having educated discussions. The point was that many people accept that to be an educated discussion. I guess it did not come off quite right. Neat thing about the word GOD. It sure is one h3ll of an anchor! It is amazing that so many individuals have such a strong opinion about what the word means without even beginning to acknowledge the subconscious imprinting that they are carrying. A good example is the one who has to fight to be right about GOD regardless of the logic of their argument. Reasoning does not matter. All that matters is their need to fight to be right! Sure is an interesting challenge to create clear communication;-) I totally agree about the fad of 'The Secret " where all you have to do is to believe in what you want then you will get it. I don't believe it really works that way at all. I hold the strong conviction that you create your reality through your thoughts and actions. Everything that you do has a waveform that attracts complimentary and supportive waveforms. For example, I have learned that when you treat others with respect and consideration they do the same to you. And further more I have learned that if you hold yourself to a standard, you will find yourself in a reality that compliments and supports that standard. If you standard is to lie and steal, you will create a reality that compliments and supports that reality. if your standard is to smile and treat others with consideration, then you will find yourself in a reality that compliments and supports that standard. This gets quite complicated in scientific terms. I don't have the education to support this argument, but I have found this as a reoccurring truth in my life. Every time I have gone through a major change in my physical reality, I have found that it compliments and supports my previous behavior and actions. This leads me to the point that if you want to live a life of happiness and fulfillment. Smile and treat others with dignity. If you make a mistake, apologize and try again. Now I am not saying that all you have to do is smile and it will all work out. I am saying that if all you do is smile and let others take care of you, then you will find yourself in a reality that supports that action. Perhaps wearing a white suite in a rubber room, but you will be given ample time to smile! If you hold yourself to the standard that a good days work earns a good days pay, then you will create the reality that supports that standard. You will go through the effort to find a job that gives you a good days pay and you will not accept less! My interest in hypnosis, is to change ones patterns of action to achieve more successful results. Now keep in mind the previous argument. I think that one can change their specific behavioral patterns and in doing so redefine their reality and create the life they want to live. This is my working theory any way. Through my life I have found it to be valid. Suggestions appreciated.
