How does one fix an internal conflict about Sales & money?

Several things here.

 

You were taught early on, probably just because of the way your

peers were, parents were, that selling anything is not a " positive

thing " . In fact, even mentioning that you understand " sales

strategies " and that you " use them " , makes you, in many people's

minds, a lower class person.

 

A negative, low-class belief about sales people tends to stop you

from doing that behavior.

 

So, with my boy, when I was signing people up on thousand $$

contracts, doing upsales, producing books, videos and marketing

packages, I had him with me. He was in the same room, sitting in the

back of the room, listening, as he read a book, played a gameboy,

etc.

 

So, later on in his life when he was in a position of being a buyer

or a sellor, he knew the ropes and FELT COMFORTABLE doing both sides.

 

Now, on the other hand, my wife will still pay the " asking price "

for about anything, and even on our honeymoon in Mazatlan 32 years

ago, she thought I was bullying the poor kid I was " negotiating "

with for a trinket for the house.

 

My wife is Fire/Earth.

 

But she does understand the logic of negotiations, now.

 

And she does buy much wiser.

 

And she still gets pissed at me when I go to a High Class Hotel, and

when I register, I mention that " I want the additional MANAGER

DISCOUNT, like I got the last time! " ...

 

So she has an INTERNAL CONFLICT, a conflict that she will not admit

to, nor clear up with any of the really neat, good working tools we

have.

 

It's funny.
