We are taught what to study. We are taught to verify what is good and what is false. We are taught to do. We are taught to think clearly. I am not here to tell everyone how good I am and what I think I know. >I have enough skills. More than I am doing the drills! I do not understand this. To me you don't have skills unless you have the experiences and the skills learned through experiences. To me what you said is not skill but vicarious learning. Sort of like watching a movie on television about hypnosis and thinking it is good stuff. But not knowing how to do it, because you've never done it. Guest guest
Sammy, Perhaps I communicated poorly. My interests that I spoke of were the specified interests in the previous post of finding other books to study from in order to build my foundation of knowledge. Not the general interests of sharing in this forum. I am here to gain new skills. I am here to learn validate and reproduce the skills. I am also here to share my experience and learn from others. I post here simple to gain feedback, positive or negative, constructive or degrading. I consider it practice and a challenge to communicate clearly and constructively. How you communicate defines who you are, to yourself and others. I have more skills that I am doing the drills simple because I don't have enough time in the day to practice everything. I practice where my interests take me. For example, right now I am practicing changing the pH of water. I am also integrating energy drills into my life. I am not spending the time that I would like working out. It just comes down to time management. The point of this thread is to gain a more solid foundation of precious study to make choices on how to best spend ones time practicing and developing ones skills. From being here I have found how much I really don't know. Presently I am looking into a more serious study of hypnosis and NLP. It seems to be strong foundation work to develop my interests. If someone offers me a better solution for my strategy of study I would take it into consideration. Thanks for your insight. Guest guest
William, I have to agree with Sammy, Why are you on this list asking questions if your skills are so highly defined and successful. Doc's seminars are light years ahead of what you will discover on this list. I can understand that you have not picked up on how really powerful Doc is and what he shares with those that take the time to head to Oregon and become part of his REAL inner circle. Why waste years of study when you can go one place, one time and refine your search. Doc will spend hours with you (and others) determining what it is that you are looking for, and then help you cut to the chase...as it were and figure out what books you need to read, what drills to do. Doc does this because he is a very strong Wood/Metal and he has already spent over 50 years figuring out what works and why. I have no vested interest in you going to Doc's seminar. I don't really care. You seem to be very smart but I get the feeling that you just don't want to be seen as a beginner. I don't know what you are working on achieving or what your goals are (except changing the PH of your spit) and you may not even know. You said you were " trying to make my work more efficient " which in effect says it's not working. It's like wanting to study an elephant and what an elephant can do and why by going one place and studying a tail to determine why a tail does what it does and another place to find out why a trunk does what it does and the purpose of a trunk and another place to find out about tough leathery skin when you could just go and get it all in one place. Asking insightful questions here will get you some answers but not the REALLY insightful answers you'll get in person. Learning the vocabulary and methods of research. Glad to hear that. I suggest you get some good hypnosis cd's (I can send you one if you want), listen to them and then go into trance as you keep awake. One experience is worth 1,000 books. > My interest is to become educated at a professional level so that I can explain techniques to clients clearly and show them the experience and research behind the techniques. Well, When you learn proper procedures, then you can always start the car. Wrong procedures, the car won't start, and it's NOT the car's fault. >Just " go up and ask God " is often a little over simplified (but sometimes works rather well!-). Sorry William, I have NEVER seen it work during 40 years of assisting people. People need simple step-by-step methods that have verifiable feedback. Even the very advanced mind energy stuff needs to be taught chunk sequential. Otherwise the car don't start. And when you actually energy test those that 'have faith' it'll, it didn't work. I am NOT belittling anyone, just pointing out that proper use of verification processes helps separate the fool's gold from the 24 Karat Gold. I want 24 Karat Gold. So go after 24 Karat Gold and I teach 24 Karat Gold. > This education will also give me the ability to talk to other professionals in the field and learn from established practices rather than just making stuff up that feels right. And when I go to >one of Doc's seminars I will be able to dissect his techniques with >the understanding of the foundation that they are built upon. I doubt that...unless you've had at least 10 years of NLP, 10 years of Huna, and 15 years of Energy Psychology and Energy Medicine. But if you could, I'd love it. When I go back and watch a DVD of me 'in action' I am amazed at the stuff that I intuitively access for the person on the 'hot-seat' with me in front of the class. Very powerful. I even take notes so that the next time I can do it consciously. > Strangely enough, taking notes and asking critical questions seems like an amazingly insightful idea! Those are the habit fields that 17 years of college and post-graduate studies have given me. I find them invaluable for being clear, specific and effective. Than you William for a great post.
