Guest guest
Tell them that different people have different results... What I typically do is talk about the process of change. How sometimes Bowen will cause a gentle detox effect, some may experience mild aching for a day or two but that they will feel a lot better by day 3 and on. I also talk about compensations due to past injuries and the process of unwinding compensations will sometimes show up the original site of the injury. I finish by saying that "any change is a good thing". Most are glad of the roadmap, as long as the roadmap is positive, with dry roads and clear skys. And if there might be a bump in the road, tell them about the smooth sailing AFTER the bump. I do try to do this. You train them to calibrate where their body is now...and, to calibrate where their body is when fixed. By calibrating I assume you mean bring awareness to present state as in pain frequency, intensity, other symptoms etc. and then to have them keep track as suggested by another poster. Donna's work is so awesome because she teaches all her skills with BUILT-IN convincer strategies ALL THE WAY THROUGH! I need to refresh a bit on convincer strategies Energy Psychology is so awesome because of the use of the SUDS scale that is a convincer strategy of "before the treatment", and of "After the treatment". Never heard of SUDS scale. Goal directed questioning is also important. Because many don't know what they want, they just don't want the pain, the don't want the depression, they don't want to feel bad. That away-from needs to be turned around. Sometimes/many times, just by doing that, "towards" clarity, the problem is solved accidently. Yes, very much so. And the transformation when they come back after working with turning around their away from language can be wonderful to see.
