Guest guest
I'm glad you found my post interesting. I absolutely love what I do! What leads me to the spot? .... Sometimes they just position themselves under my hands and contort their bodies until the muscle group that they want worked on actually stands out. It is fascinating. Last week I had a horse who just about put his hindquarter into my hand with his leg positioned to exactly the right spot. I treat him on a regular basis but he was very sore this time around and made it obvious to me. He wouldn't settle until I released exactly where he wanted!! For the most part I am completely "in the moment" when I treat. If I let go of the need to follow the set routine and just put my hands where ever I seem to need to go next then I quite often get a huge release. If I let go of the need to analyze and evaluate and just put my hands where they seem to be drawn I can feel the animal get ready to take that deep breath or sigh and yawn that shows the release taking place. I find myself breathing with them. I haven't analyzed what happens as it is a pretty new thing for me to be able to be that present. I would love to have someone observe who could get an idea of what happens. I don't feel it in my own body, I certainly am not visualizing anything or hearing anything, it seems more like a "knowing" although there are probably signs within myself that I am not tuning into yet. As best I can figure it is a right brain thing because I have difficulty putting words around what I am doing as I work. This is why I find it difficult to treat and talk my way through a demo at the same time. Chatty owners can also be very distracting and I have to block them out. I feel as if I am somehow "present" for the animal, in their energy and their personal space. I am very aware that they are allowing me into their space and that there are times when they need to show me that it hurts. None of them have ever expressed themselves to the point of being dangerous. My friend controls her blood pressure by 1) religiously starting the day with the 5 minute routine. 2) Using either the TW/Spleen hug or another form of calming TW when she feels stressed. 3) using EFT when she is aware of something causing her stress ... I have shown her quite a few of Donna's exercises and she has now purchased her own copy of Energy Medicine. Taking Down the Flame works well for her when she is in energy overwhelm. She is very good at going with whichever exercise comes into her consciousness and is learning to tune into her body's requests for what it needs. I am in awe of her abilities. She is even using some meridian tracing and TW calming with her dog when he gets stressed. She is ADD and goes into overload quite easily and it seems that her dog follows her patterns. Fascinating stuff. I am new to a lot of this and finding my way. My friend and I are very different and it has been an interesting journey to observe how what works for me doesn't necessarily work for her. The neat part is trying to figure out the whys!
