Guest guest
How do you know if a book is good for you, or not? <healingenergywithShari wrote: > --- > <(A zip up without the positive affirmation is almost worthless) > < > An important point, the affirmation with the Zip-Up---thank-you! > Also, Rose Rosetree has written a practical book on being an Empath. > Shari Hi Shari, I know that Donna and David also gave good kudos to Rose and her books, especially at the last " colors & aura " seminar. And I have her books, and I HATE THEM! I can't get past the first few pages. (I've 3 of her books). So, what is it about her books that you approve of? I guess my point is, " how do you know if a book is good for you, or not? Or, if a book is good for others, or not? " I'm asking this question so I can " turn on " my own convincer strategies enough to know that reading and studying her materials is important for me to do. One of my friends, Richard, recommended a book to me one time, so I got it. Boy was it lousy. So I emailed Richard and asked him " why he thought it was a good book? " Richard's answer, " I didn't read it. A friend recommended it to me so I knew it was good " . In other words, Richard's convincer strategy is so simple that, " if someone he likes recommends something, then it must be good " . On the other hand, my friend John says that for a book to be good for him it, " Must be on topic, it must cover a bit of history, and bit of 'why it's important to study from him, and why he's the expert', exacty HOW to do the drills and to get the skills, stories about people that have done the skills to get the drills, studies from reputable people about the veracity of those skills, and how else one might use those skills " . That second strategy drives me forward to study and experiment with a passion. I find people's convincer strategies amazing. I still remember my first Donna Eden 2 day seminar from 9 years ago. The entire first 2 hours was her doing unconscious convincer strategies for having the audience with her and believing her. Amazing beyond belief. I think I took more notes on those convincer strategies of hers then I did on the actual energy drills. Just kidding, they are in the book. Sincerely, As I search through my 3 big library of books, book shelves, and crates of books, looking for them...again;-)
