Back about 3 weeks ago I was talking with Leslie (from Innersource) about arrangements for the upcoming Portland seminar. And in the conversation Leslie happened to mention that Donna calls her TA's " soul catchers " . I said, " what? " The term " soul catcher " threw me into orbit. I couldn't grab hold of what it meant. Leslie attempted to explain it to me, and then gave up in despair, as if she'd lost hope in my denseness. So I've been thinking about it... ....putting that concept of " soul-catcher " on the backburner of my mind, letting unconscious transderivational search processes inform me of what it is in terms that I can grasp consciously. ....and Re-reading Donna's book Donna states, " the first practitioner of energy medicine is you, the one who inhabits the body being cared for... " An interesting way of putting those words. " To cultivate these abilities, you will be learning a language your body already speaks and understands---the language of energy. " " I think of soul as the spark of Spirit that infuses the body with life and the brain with consciousness. When the soul leaves, the brain dims, the body dies. To work with a person's energy is to touch a soul as well as a body. Ironically, the deeper you enter into the life of your personal soul, the more fully you identify with your roots in the life of a universal, unifying intelligenct Spirit. And the better your body will fare " Then in another book, the author Og Mandino ( " The Greatest Miracle in the World " ) states, " ...Most humans, in varying degrees, are already dead. In one way or another they have lost their dreams, their ambitions, their desire for a better life. They have surrendered their fight for self-esteem and they have compromised their great potential... " So, my budding definition of a " soul-catcher " is a person trained in helping others (and themselves) reach their vast potentials, to regain their self-esteem, to reach their dreams, healthwise, energywise and joycircuit wise. Any help on this growing definition and awareness from the Eden, Energy Medicine, Energy Psychology viewpoint will be appreciated. As I mentioned to Barbara Ann, I am slowly/quickly (?)stretching the mental walls and barriors that I'm accustomed to living as a Wood Element. I am not attempting to change, but to understand more fully. I do like myself as a Wood Element. And I do know that there is much more wisdom out there (and inside) to learn, appreciate and assimilate. Any hints on how to become a better soul-catcher?
