NO strength in back; but I can do stretches

I have been having constant pain and total weakness in my lower back for

almost a year. I AM capable of doing yoga stretches and flexible things.

However, there is NO strength to even lift a pillow or change a bedsheet.

Any idea of how to solve this? I have tried just about everything.

My main pain comes from trying to sit in a comfortable LaZBoy. Even the

gravity recliner chairs don't seem to help that much. My spine collapses

outward and you could feel the bony spine!

ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE HELPFUL. I AM IN GREAT PAIN and I don't know how

much longer I can bear it.

THANK YOU!

Sleep on the floor on your back. massage your lower spine areas. Breath in

through your mouth and fill up your stomach w/ air...out through the mouth.

Is this due to an injury or is it something that slowly came on? Has it

been looked at by an MD or chiropractor? Low back pain in Chinese

medicine typically indicates weak kidney energy. Do you have weak lower

legs and knees too? How often do you urinate at night? Any ringing in

your ears? Is your sex drive OK? If any of these other things are an

issue for you, you likely have weak kidney energy which can often be

helped with acupuncture and Chinese herbs.

Good luck!

Hi

Is it possible you have a spasm of one of the psoas muscles? Do you

have trouble standing straight up? Try standing and resting one then

the other of your feet on a stool in front of you (to flex the

psoas) and see if you get relief. Spasm of the psoas will flex the

lower back, be aggravated by sitting and make lifting (especially

with hips flexed as in bending over) almost impossible. There are

many reasons for this spasm. I had these symptoms for many years and

finally relieved it with massive doses of MSM over a six month

period. Also helpful is insertion of GV 26 with lots of stimulation

while standing and rotating the hips to help losen the lower

back/psoas complex. Feel free to contact me off-list on this. Good

luck.

Sorry..... when I posted this I made a mistake, I said breath in through your

mouth, I meant nose. I have some stones that are flatish that I use to lie on in

the area of the lower back. When my back gets out of shape I try to push it back

into place by lying on the stones for maybe 10-15 minutes at a time. Also the

line along the middle of the back of the leg is good for stimulation of the

sciatic area. Behind the knee is a good spot for this. Try a stick or pencap for

this gently poking the area for a short time.
