Energy secrets for kickers, part 2

My son plays piano very well

But tonight, his playing has been well

below the standard of recent nights and absolutely littered with minor mistakes

and also memory lapses

Very frustrating for him

It sounds like he is just not

concentrating – but he seems to be trying hard

Any ideas why this might be and whether

there are drills to help?

Hello Vince

Look in the

archive for

Energies running back

wards

And

Homolateral

If you have Donna

Eden’s book

The 5 minutes day

routine helps

Especially…

Well I think you

have enough

Clues

Happy to contribute

What’s the

connection between trying hard stress and energies?

everything here

Hi Orna

and thanks for the response

Yes I have Donna's book and it makes a lot of sense to me

Homolateral is interesting...

The cross crawl is good for this, but so is walking and running.

He had been running in his athlerics class at school (last class) so I'm

surprised that this would be a problem

He did much better last night - after he'd run much further

" energies running backwards " , sounds very reasonable to me.

It's interesting that for a big performance, he seems to be able to get into

a zone and do really well without any of Donna's techniques - he must be

able to do somehting naturally

And then, often when he performs, he gets " into the zone " and he

connects directly and deeply with the music - like he did last

Saturday - it really is breathtaking

I have no idea how he gets there - we very rarely see it during

practice.

Any thoughts?

Hi Vince,

How does he feel about practicing compared to performing? Is it

boring sometimes?

Does he do any energy drills before practice? 3 thumps, wayne cook,

Cross crawl, NV hold...?

Regards,

Michael.
