Guest guest
Blessings, anisah, Moonstone and Labradorite are both feldspars so yes, rainbow moonstone and labradorite are very closely related chemically. I have notived that the rainbow moonstone is very different than regular moonstone (though regular moonstone is isquitite in its own right! :-)). I don't think rainbow moonstone is a type of labradorite (though I could easily be mistaken), but I think it's more like they're just in the same type of mineral classification. They may just call the white/rainbow variety moonstone because it is white with rainbow sheen; I'm not really sure, but they're both lovely stones. I LOVE labradorite too. (I love feldspars! Sunstone, moonstone, labradorite, amazonite, etc). I did go to one site that suggested that rainbow moonstone represented the Maiden/Mother aspects of the Goddess, thus the waxing phase of the moon, and that labradorite represented the darker, Crone energies of the Goddess, the waning phase. Some people, however, view labradorite as having both solar and lunar energies, providing a balancing effect. I tend to agree with this view as labradorite is very calming and balacning and can open one to the masculine and feminine properties within themselves and to be comfortable with them. It's a very special stone for anyone that is having difficulty adjusting to the new energies being sent to and emmitting from Earth. Then again, rainbow moonstone shares this balancing property as well, but I think the main difference is that labradorite is more grounding than rainbow moonstone. It's as if (if you were working with both stones) labradorite prepares the body for the coming energies by balancing your four body system while moonstone helps the flow of the higher energies come within you. Hopefully, I didn't trip over too many words there. Hehe. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Aradius :-) You are correct- Rainbow moonstone is not a variety of labradorite (spectrolite), they just belong to the same family. Btw - did you know that there is another variety of spectrolite called " white spectrolite " ?
