Guest guest Posted March 17, 2009 Report Share Posted March 17, 2009 Good Day Brothers and Sisters, Its Tuesday, 17th March 2009 I couldn't send out my newsletter issue yesterday and one has been posted today .. I know the posting has been erratic for some time now .. But I guess that's what makes CYBUGLE what it is... A Human endeavour .. with all its flaws .. yet going ..and trying to keep on going ... Which is not to justify the shortcomings ... I hate it when our humanity is held up as a reason for our shortcomings ... The way I see it, since we are created by God ..we have therefore been touched by Divinity. So, How can we be anything less than celestial (with due humility) I used to have palm reading and studying of horoscopes in astrology as a hobby .. and Boy did that make me popular in all our family get togethers ... Everyone wanted their palms read and wanted to know all about the good times that were in store for them ... (Mind you, they came entrenched with ideas about the good fortune, that was waiting for them so any deviation from this was not received well ... ) There were of course those who wanted a scapegoat to blame for their run of bad luck (genuine in some case), but no one wanted to confront the flaws that were clearly visible and well within their reach to correct .. lot of hard work you know I soon realised I was being sought more for wish fulfillment than for any genuine search for a solution ... And then I also read up in some of the scriptures some requirements (as in fulfillment of some conditions) for practising astrology without suffering its ill effects (akin to a doctor taking precautions so He doesn't fall sick while treating patients) ... Whoops!!! That was enought for me to bid adieu to a short career as an astrologer cum palmist cum soothsayer ... But I learnt something about us humans .. about ourselves .. about our weaknesses and I observed it in many situations which affirmed what I had concluded fom my observations Our basic tryst with suffering is based upon our desire to experience pleasure without paying the price in the form of hard work (or pain for the lazy ones) And that is the genesis for much of the crime we see in our society .. Right from parents turning a blind eye to the obvious deviant behaviour in their children to not blinking in bribing our way through Government offices to get our work done .. We don't want to get involved ... Its too much of a hassle and hard work .. What we don't realise is that the hard work we put off now soon assumes the form of an impossible task later on which we then use as an excuse to forego doing it at all... A cycle of apathy and laziness soon sets in that soon becomes self sustaining ... Wanna break it ??? Start Yes .. starting is the first thing you need to do ... And start small .. in other words, start with yourself .. Pick one habit that you know is wrong and attack it with single minded resolve ... Give yourself a time frame within which to do it and DO IT No excuses .. No exceptions ...Don't complicate it .. Just DO IT .. It may be as simple as waking up early or taking a walk .. START WITH SOMETHING and DON'T STOP until you ACHIEVE IT Believe me the benefits will far outweigh the efforts you put in and Hopefully, it'll soon start a cycle of self improvement and benefits that'll replace the cycle of apathy and laziness REMEMBER Your comments and feedbacks always welcome ..
