Guest guest
Childhood stuff There's an old saying that its never too late to have a happy childhood . I think that a lot of people who become healers or spiritual teachers and guides or explorers do come from abusive or dysfunctional families . Maybe the search for answers and healing leads them to the spiritual path? Maybe being already on the spiritual path they choose to be born into the abusive situation in order to experience and understand and develop compassion? Maybe as spirits they choose that birth to protect others or to accelerate their own Karmic and dharmic lessons and missions ? maybe for all of the above reasons and more? I for one have found that my " colorful " background has often been a precious asset when counseling the depressed or suicidal person or troubled or delinquent youth etc. not only because I really do have some idea of what they have been /are going through but because I am alive ,sane ,drug free etc. and pretty darn happy now and by that mere fact I offer hope for others of similar background . Perhaps I am not a very successful person in the Power and Dollars accounting of our society, but I love, am loved and respected, I experience joy and create beauty and in large part because of the trauma and drama of my youth have come into a certain wisdom and realization and contentment that while not complete, seems more whole than that of many who have not had the same kinds of challenges in their lives. I do believe that I did choose to have many of the experiences of difficulty. That I planned an outline of my basic life and intentions before I was born and that though perhaps I disregarded good advice and underestimated challenges I have gained from the experience . There is a Buddhist teaching that now is a vital time to be alive on Earth and that it is a great and extremely rare Honor to have a body on Earth and that even the worst life on Earth is at this time such a treasure that many of those " lowest " among us are actually Saints and Buddhas who gave up Heaven (for a while) to be here . Do you need to deal with the issues of your unhappy child hood ? Everyone benefits from dealing with their own shadows but what you need to do and when can depend on how much work you have done. and how much the experience is effecting you at this time in a harmful or non productive way. Do you have suppressed stuff that is sitting there under pressure and you feel it might explode or you are aware of a big hole in your ability to function in life that you work around like its an invisible bear in the middle of the floor ? If you are not able to be happy , if the fears and nightmares of your youth prevent you from having a good life then you need to seek solutions in some form . If you are living as though being a victim of abuse in any form is what you are like its part of your name or a job title, if you tell every one you meet about your past no matter what the circumstance then you may need to find ways to live that focus on other parts of experience . Remember that working on and releasing old trauma is not the same as picking at your scabs until they fester. What EVER HAS HAPPENED YOU ARE ALIVE ! what you have done to survive worked and you are therefore a success. You can now move into healing and wholeness you were meant to have . Begin to enjoy the pleasures and treasures of day today life and appreciate the Good in each moment and that will move you swiftly on your path of healing and light. Inner child crystals those clear quartz points with a second crystal partially imbedded ,point in, can help with the opening and releasing of child hood trauma and repressed memories Pink stilbite and apophylite clusters can help gently reveal hidden truth and heal the emotional pain Kunzite can help awaken self love , chrysocolla is among the stones that can help you realize and heal painful memories and free you to speak your truth . Blue Lace agate, moss agate, Watermelon Tourmaline, Dioptaise , Petrified Wood , Dolomite . Corals and fossil shellfish and Moonstone are some of the crystals that are recommended for this kind of work. Carrying ,holding , meditating with or using some of these crystals in a grid can help release and heal from those issues stemming from childhood events which have continued to be held as pain either emotional mental or physical.
