When I took my training in EMDR, they not only taught us to use the visual mode of the protocol, but for people who had difficulties with their eyes, we were also doing alternate tapping on some body part of theirs, usually their knees or lower thighs. I wonder if what was happening was that we were readjusting the homolateral flow? Just was wondering as I read your post. Paulina

The drill Jim was doing was to activate both brain hemispheres though that special tapping sequence. So now though processing will be a function of both brain hemispheres automatically. I'm pretty sure that to correct cronic homolateral is not that easy to do.

Testing is great cos it demonstrates to the client that the drill changes something in a positive way and that it is just a matter of getting that change to hold. I had a client come in today who was grumpy and disillusioned with EM. She has sleep probs and a scoliosis. The first week after she came she did the drills and slept better then she stopped the drills and had a week of poor sleep. When i asked her why she had stopped the drills she said that she didn't feel that they had made a difference soooo I repeated back what she had just said about better sleep in the first week WHEN SHE WAS DOING THE DRILLS. She had an " aha " moment and then we did some strange flows. She went from feeling flat to feeling relaxed and happy.......and said " I don't want to believe that this stuff works but every time you demonstrate to me that it does " . Next time we are gonna EFT that particular aspect. Just thought I would share.... Cris
