Guest guest
Sodalite is a beautiful darker blue as is lapis lazuli. I haven't been following this thread so I don't know if these have already been mentioned? The Kyanite blade that I have is a sky blue, I haven't seen Kyanite in it's gem form though. Guest guest
Reading through the postings I see you are looking for a stone that can be cut and faceted. I really think that you could find an Amethyst deep enough in color to be Indigo for this purpose. I guess the color Indigo is different for everyone, for me it's more purple than blue, and for others it's more blue than purple. ) Of course the Iolite is very nice too! Guest guest
To me, Indigo is the color of the night sky. I find Apache Tear to be close to indigo. I sell all types of stones at my store, and to me, that is the closest. Sometimes I get a deep blackish purple agate, but they're few and far between. Guest guest
Hello - I also thought of lapis and sodalite, although it seems you may want something more translucent. Have you considered flourite? Among my flourite collection is a deep shade that appears blue....and the good news is I have seen the same shade elsewhere. It may be worth your while to search for it, since it makes such a nice gem-cut.
