Guest guest
Hi Sandy, >So, in many many cases a OBE or a NDE is to help the person that had > that experience grow in his own skills and abilities. > > Other cases, one of the ways of growing is to realize BECAUSE OF THE > EXPERIENCE, that there is something besides this mortal body, and > that " life " (now defined a bit differently) goes on after the body > is no longer usuable. That's a belief change. That's a Value change. > That's an identity change. So they no longer have the FEAR of death. > > There is much more information available if anyone is interested??? > > Sandy Godheart > I have never had a NDE, however I have had several OBE's. This for me did not prove that one could exist without a body, only that we can create a virtual reality in our mind and receive information non locally (just like we can get info by remote viewing). I have read about many NDE related topics, like people 'remembering' previous lives, seeing things in the operating room while being clinically death etc. All this information did show me that maybe there really is something to it, however I could also each time come up with alternative explanations that do not require the idea we live on after one life (e.g. remembering previous lives --> 'tuning into' other people which match us vibrationally etc). So, I'm still doing what I can to get a good answer/experience that convinces me (e.g. mediation, hemi sync, hypnosis, etc), and I hope to get it before it's too late I think this is also linked in some way with the idea that we are born with a purpose (most seem to think the purpose it to grow/learn). Sure, this is a belief that is very usefull to have and helps to live a life as full as possible. I do my best to live by it. Unfortunately up till now I still have not managed to really convince myself of this. I look around, and can not imagine that most people really have a purpose here, they live like robots. Then I evaluate my life, and the feeling creeps on me that one day it will be over and that will be it. The purpose one believes one has is just a context dependant strategy (for this life) that we like to extrapolate beyond this life. I also do not 'believe' this, I just don't know one way or the other. So, for me the question is: how can one really become convinced in life after death? Maybe this is the same as some people believing in a god or whatever. They just do. And I don't because I need to have an experience that convinces me. As long as I haven't I'm agnostic regarding this issue.
