Of course, Is the other reason, so you could demonstrate one strategy

of how to handle a bully? Someone who wants to dominate by demeaning

others?

I am not quite sure of the REAL REASON for the posting of Doc's letter, but I think that we all will have our own interpretations based on our own values, beliefs, and histories with bullies.

I think that handling such a "bully" in this particular manner, is a lesson for us, I guess, as to how to stop being bullied about, even in our adult years. We have our own childhood stories of being bullied, yet probably do not realize that we still are prone to being bullied in adulthood. We just don't look at it as being bullied perhaps. It would have been easier to strike back at the waitress, get our frustrations out, yet truly accomplish very little. She still will continue to bully others as well as us, or spit in our food, if we chose to patronize that establishment.

The goal, I suppose, was for Doc and his family and friends to not be bullied out of coming to a place that they, obviously, enjoy, but to get that woman out of there, instead.

Having presented such a letter in person, and being eloquent (not to mention credentials, and a $500 advice), would make any owner pause and think about all the past lost business and the potential lost business. All was stated in the letter in a rational and factual manner, with a touch of emotion to present the patrons as real live people with feelings and a fondness for the establishment.

I am not sure if I am chunking down small enough to get the gist of what you had intended as a lesson for us Doc.....but that is my take on it, and a lesson indeed.
