Dawn,

Here is a healthy mayonnaise for you and your husband. You may want to

check out flaxseed oil, coconut oil or olive oil for your husbands joints.

2 egg yolks

1/4 teaspoon vegetable salt

1 teaspoon honey

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1 pint vegetable oil

 

Mix all ingredients, except oil, in bowl and beat together. Slowly add the

oil a drop or two at a time until the mixutre is the right consistency. If

used on fruit salad a little sweet cream can be beaten in before using. If

used on vegetable salad the flavor is sometimes improved by the addition of a

little sour cream.

 

Taken from Diet & Salad by Dr. Norman Walker. May I suggest all his books but

if you can not get all of them at least by this book and Fresh Vegetable and

Fruit Juices. I am living by them and feel great. My husband also has osteo

and is need of a hip replacement. I am sorry we got such a slow start on

lifestyle changes. I juice for him daily and we know eat almost all fruits

Oh and I do not use mayo on anything anymore because I use to use it when

making sandwiches. I no longer eat that way. I use to use Russian dressing on

my salads and now I choose to use salsa as my dressing.

From what I have read on other health related lists, vegetable oil

is pretty bad stuff, unless it is specifically cold pressed olive or virgin

coconut oil. Beware of canola, corn, soy, etc.
