Guest guest
I started taking a softgel supplement called Kolorex purchased from Swanson Vitamins (pardon the plug. They have fine products at great prices.) Kolorex's active ingredient is horopito. An ND called Christopher Lepisto has videos on YouTube that tells about how effective this herb can be. You can also do a Google search on both horopito and Kolorex, although the latter is a proprietary name and will give fewer hits. I was taking Kolorex internally because the " spit " test indicated I might have a yeast overgrowth. After about 2 months I noticed that my big toenail that has a fungus infection that had been stopped from spreading by a topical Tinactin/oil-based product, was actually growing in with the nail looking normal. I haven't experienced any noticeable side effects from taking Kolorex either. Six months of taking generic Lamisil only stopped the fungus from spreading. Lamisil can also cause liver damage so I quit taking it when after 6 months it was not working to clear the infection. I do know I will keep taking it for at least 2 more months and probably 3-4 month depending on how fast the nail grows in. I would rather take it for an extra month or two than need to start from scratch because I didn't take it long enough. I am still applying the topical Tinactin-based oil solution externally, a double whammy. Yeast and fungus can be a bit difficult to get cleared. It seems like I am well on my way to clearing internal yeast that since the latest " spit " test this morning looks like there is a lot less yeast present. YEA!!! Swanson sells a 30-day supply for around $11. You can find out in about 60 days whether it is helping your own nail fungus go bye-bye when you see the new nail growing in looking normal. There is another, more expensive brand that has the identical ingredient available on several web sites. Do I think Kolorex will clear all nail fungus infections? I have no idea.
