Guest guest
Hello friends, I am new to this group, but not new to acupuncture. I have been a holistic health student for about 2 years now. In May 2003 my 5 year old daughter was diagnosed with leukemia. We decided to complement her mainstream chemotherapy with many holistic modalities including acupuncture. It helped her immensely and I started looking for opportunities to study acupuncture. After realizing that enrolling in the formal school is not an option while my kids are so small, I decided to pursue the apprenticeship route. By the way, I live in Maryland, but very close to Washington, DC where one can get licensed by apprenticeship route. Our acupuncturist (who is a very great person, I think) agreed to help me learn for free and I started reading my first textbook now. I really look forward to the time when I learn more and can start participate in the clinic/practice which will not happen for at least 6 more months. I am looking for someone who learned acupuncture by apprenticeship and whether it is feasible to have a practice eventually this way. I love learning and will pursue other modalities at the same time. My other interests are nutrition and energy healing such as Reiki. Thanks in advance for your responses, Lola
