Marketing Wash of the Brains

Hey All,

A friend and I had dinner tonight and One topic came up, that struck a

cord with both of us.

With Some self-help organizations, who teach " empowerment' techniques,

often turn to their students, to influence, or some Ive seen a subtle

level of coercion on them to make a list of friends, family, etc..so

their contacts can benefit as much as the participant did.

Call me old fashioned, but I don't like to be told who I recommend to my

friends and I find that style offensive. I consider my bonds with

friends and family as sacred and kept private and respectful. By

putting their names on a list of future marketing endevours, without

their prior consent....I think that cheapens and degrades the friendship

a bit, dont ya think?

Anyway, I wish I had a video recorder, as I did a terrifically funny 15

minute sales pitch for some semi-fictionous products, to demonstrate the

funny nuances of marketing in that fashion.

But I also got to thinking....and found a curiousity, that Im still

curious about.

If you have 10 friends and half of them, get excited about Product X,

and start to market to you, once in a while, to become a Distributer, or

come to a free meeting, besides being polite and saying " thanks, but no

thanks. " What would be a good response? or more importantly, if there

might be some subtle brain washing techniques, that has them

over-motivated to sell, sell, sell....what would be a good way to deal

with that and do in in such a way, that would be empowering to myself

and them. in a proactive " at cause fashion??

I can imagine a Wood Element might say, " fuck off, you scum....mention

that shit one more time...then don't bother coming around me anymore! "

Is that accurate?

But what would the other elements say, That would be just as empowering?

Curiousity abounds, since there are many aspects to consider.

Thanks

Richard
