I have to say I have been amazed at how much people don't know. I was on a wheat free list and people avoided wheat and ate sugar and any other fake food offered them just as long as it didn't have wheat in it.

Certainly, someone new to staying away from the SAD diet would need guidance at first, but it’s pretty much common sense.

Depends on the product. Not all coconut oil/butter is processed the same or grown the same. Organic cold processed is good. And is also very rare. Some web searching will lead to good product. I recently bought some from spectrum naturals and it was just horrible. It should smell like fresh coconut and have a mild clean flavor. The spectrum naturals smelled like something spoiled and I didn't put any in my mouth. The smell was to horrible.

Hi Listees,

I got some at the health food store yesterday and started taking becasue it is suppose to be good for you and it is suppose to rev up your matabolism.

Anyway...on the websites it says it is helpful to crohn's disease...

Thanks for the info Cindy. I always wondered about theirs. If it smells like coconut and has a mild coconut flavor it is good. It is wonderful for dry skin and the body absorbs it through the skin. Very nice.

Hi,

We have a couple of nice health "whole food" stores in town, and I got some NOW edible coconut oil yesteday.

It smelled ok to me, and I have just been eating it raw a few times a day. It said it was cold processed. it is white and looks sort of like crisco with a light coconut taste.

They had a few other brands and one said organic and was actually the least expensive, but did not trust it because it did not have much writting on the label.
