Hi,

You could try a comfrey poultice. Get the root (I think the leaf would work

too) and grind it up, mix with aloe vera and pack into the wound gently.

Change daily, rinsing out the wound.

Good luck,

Sean

road rash

Hi everyone

I have a patient who hit a deer on his motorcycle 5 days ago and

luckily, got off with mostly road rashes. Some areas, however, are

pretty severe down to tendon and bone. He is trying to avoid skin

grafting and the PA who is treating him is going along with it. They

are debriding the wound, applying topical antibiotics and he is on

an oral antibiotic as well as pain killers. Does anyone have any

suggestions as to herbal poultices and specifically their

preparation and application and internal herbal decoctions? He's

about 54 years old and, though I've never treated him, I've advised

him and looked at him as he's a friend. He's usually got a fairly

red tongue with a thick yellow coat in back. He experiences prostate

difficulty for which he takes Saw Palmetto regularly. I always

wanted to try Zhi Bai Di Huang Tang and acu for him but he's

a " tough guy " and pretty cheap about spending money for treatments.

He seems basically Yin xu, very small guy, quite wiry though highly

intelligent and probably just from small people. He's had some

brushes with squamous cell skin cancer but says his skin heals

rather quickly in general. He uses that something-U-Dex stuff on any

cancers he suspects which turns his skin purple, then uses aloe vera

to heal afterward. So, any suggestions for road rash?

Thanks, Shanna

Hello,

I'm not an expert at all, but I've read that Yunnan Paiyao may be used

externally to help heal wounds.

Dear All,

I am Samuel. I am new here.

I'd like to ask something, perhaps you can help me:

In Chinese concept, if spleen-stomach (SP-ST) strong, then you muscle will

be strong, that's mean you will be eager to eat more and more, then you will

get fat and fat.

What's wrong in my statement above? Somebody can help me?

I am already overweight, should I strong my SP and ST? Or I just need to

weaken my LI?

Please enlight me. Thank you.

Regards,

Samuel Surya
