Gallo, Ph.D. " <fgallo wrote: > > Dear All, > What's in a Name? Cool post Fred, Depends on what you want the name to do. If it's for marketing purposes you'd name it in a way that answered a problem. A name that would attract the clientel to that particular solution. I know of one person that came up with a drill called the IDD (Inner Demon Destroyer) based upon Donna Eden and David Feinstein's work with neurovasculars, special tapping points and the Gamute. It is verifiably successful (with energy testing) with one sandwich. He does real good with it. Why? Because after he talks with his clients he finds the problems that it will fit and then helps them using a bit of hypnosis, NLP and the energy medicine and energy tapping. So that very successful person uses " away-from " propulsion systems to motivate a client away from that pain towards something that suggests a solution. Sometimes that means he needs to agitate the problem and how it can get much worst, just so they'll want to move away from it psychologically. Once they are really motivated and their pain is reframed as an Inner demon, then the rest is easy. Then he has a verification process that the tactic worked well. It's not a good name for a professional journal. Just as " Brain Gym " is a good marketing name, and a poor professional name. That same professional used to advertise in the telephone book under psychologists, quoting his degrees and expertise. After a year of very poor results, he advertised in the same book, the same section but promised " peak performance " skills training. Very successful. And it's very effective for a 'new improved version' to come about every year to 2 years. Why? Because once the name has reached the client and they are familiar with it, they " believe " that when they hear the name that they actually know something about it, when in fact they know nothing about it, nor about how it's done, or how successful it can be. They are hallucinating their expertise because they have a familarity with the word. For example if one tells people that massaging xxxxxx pts xx & xx will enhance their kidneys, they might not pay attention. BUT if one tells them that, " there are secret points that are the ENERGY VIAGRA of the merdian system, and those secret points are much safer, faster, cheaper and dependable than that little blue pill that costs so much " , you have their undivided attention.
