Hi!!

I suggest the best way to find out what is generally happening here would be

to ask the schools in this country to send you their catalogue or possibly

you can find enough information on the web. Most of the schools have

websites. A list of schools and more general information can be found on the

website www.nccaom.org. The NCCAOM is the national

certification board for

acupuncture and oriental medicine in the US. They have a schools and

accreditation board also.

Good Luck!!!!

I will be visiting Australia next year and will be interested in checking out

what's happening there. I wonder if you would tell me where you are located

and something about your practice. I am trying to put together information on

oriental medicine around the world.

Love,

Bobbi

acupuncture licensing requirements

Dear List,

I am a acupuncture students in Western Australia, which currently does not

have a board to license practitioners. There is a process going on,

discussing the procedure required for registration of practitioners. Could

practitioners out there give me some answers.

1. What length of studies is required?

2. What qualifications needed to be admitted to the acupuncture course of

studies?

3. Contents of the studies?

4. Clinical practises - did you do it during the course of studies or after?

5. How many clinical hours are mandatory?

Appreciate it very much if I can get respond from practitioners from a

varied background.

Thanking you in advance

Jacquie
