hi percy

the type of hot flushes your wife is experiencing would, in chinese medicine be

attributed to an increasing deficiency of Yin energies in the body. she may also

be experiencing symptoms such as dizziness, insomnia, irritability, Her

menstrual blood flow may be profuse or lingering in additition to increasingly

irregular. Acupuncture treatment to nourish Yin energies can be very helpful,

although unlikely to be an overnight cure.

She would do well to avoid excessive animal products such as beef, lamb, pork,

cheese and eggs. Also heating foods such as coffee, alcohol, tabacco, hot

spices, chilli and cinnamon.

Avoid also overeating. Preferable cooking methods are raw, steamed, boiled,

stewed and stir-fried. Avoid foods that are deep-fries, roasted, b-b-qued, or

smoked.

beneficial foods are beans in general, millet, watermelon and other melons,

blackberry, yam, black and white sesame seeds ( tahini ), sardines, pears,

grapefruit, grapes and cherries.

If your wife does have insomnia, dizziness, and/or is loosing a lot of menstrual

blood, foods to nourish blood will be helpful. These include green leafy veg,

beetroot, apricots, dates, chicken, mung beans, kidney beans, adzuki beans,

barley, corn, molasses.

best wishes, jason

acupuncture Protocol for hot flashes?

My wife has menopausal hot flashes and it's getting very expensive

because she sets the air conditioner down to 70.

Any acupuncture protocols out there? I use the AWQ-104B

acupunctoscope.
