Guest guest
Hello , et al, Asked about the DMSO in several other places. Still not reasonably possible to acquire. As for the MSM, no problemo. I have been using a Glucosamine, Chondroitin & MSM 'melange a trois' 500/400/400, in pill form for all my dogs for the past few years. I have seen it on the shelf in just MSM form but understood it to work better for my doggies's joint requirements in the 'melange'. I have NOT used MSM before all on it's own. Do you think that would be better? Here is an interesting update on Micaleen. She has most definitely, dramatically improved her pain & mobility in the back legs. That is HUGE good news for us here... Here's the kicker... I'm NOT sure what did it! In the same week I added several new things to her diet. A)I added a tablespoon of Olive Oil that Doc suggested..I bought the 'extra virgin' kind... ( it's so hard to find anything virgin now a days, let alone 'extra virgin', it must be extra special, right? I imagine it comes from some very remote part of Italy with some very strict caretakers watching over the Olives, guarding their purity as they get to that 'just ripe' age.) B) Vermiculite. This is a Homeopathic Remedy, (not that easy to get in Canada, much easier to acquire in Australia and the U.S.) that has quite a few very successful documented cases where the remedy worked 'miracles' on animal's arthritis and even the dreaded hip dysplasia...though it may have originally been used for human's arthritis, research showed alot of cases where humans were helped but I focused my research on dogs. C) Wobenyzm. I started this a week earlier than the other two products, didn't see any immediate difference, but the second week after more research I realized I needed to up the dosage from 2 to 5 pills for Mic, and also make SURE that her tummy was absolutely empty and not even a spec of protein was to come in contact with the Wobenyzm for between half and one hour after ingestion. She is on certain nutritional supplements along with her Species Appropriate Raw Diet, as well as Willow Bark Extract when the pain was bad along with 20 mins. heating pad on her hips while I gave her Reiki and did the energy 'ear pull' on her(which she loves)... Since adding these 3 items above, just a couple of weeks ago, she's only needed the Willow Bark once (she had been needing it every day sometimes twice per day) and we've been able to drop the daily heating pad treatments and well I still give her 5 mins. quickie Reiki sessions and the ear pull because she loves it so much, but doesn't 'need' it now...She also gets more paddock run time with the other dogs, so she is truly thrilled...and so are we! Thanks Doc ;-) Sincerely, Aileen W. Guest guest
'extra virgin', it must be extra special, right? - Extra virgin is Olive oil terminology for first pressing. Best is Cold Pressed extra virgin. And NOT from ripe old olives but from Green olives. - >understood it to work better for my doggie's joint requirements in the 'melange'. [MSM] MSM works on ALL inflammations. Glucosamine and Chondroitin help alleviate certain conditions and if it's not those conditions it's wasted. Dry ligament and hardened carltige etc. The protocol for Human dosage is: 3 x 1000 mg. MSM combined with 3 x 1000 mg Calcium ascorbate [non acidic vitamin C] Washed down with a glass of water, Twice daily. For dogs justs adjust for body weight. MSM works for people, dogs and horses but NOT for Cats. You cannot be allergic to MSM nor can you overdose [with the exception of inducing healing crisis at the beginning]. But if it's for the Dog your Vet shouild be able give you a perscription for DMSO. I know Vets can do this in British Columbia but some want to teach you how to use it first before writing a perscription. rusty - aileen donovan Tuesday, May 09, 2006 6:25 AM Re: DMSO Update & MSM & Other Updates re: My Rottie/Innuit Dog.
