Guest guest
Hello, all, Yesterday I received my 3rd weekly acupuncture session for sciatica pain which I feel in my right glute and thigh. I am finding that some of the needle insertions are uncomfortable with a couple being right out painful. In my first session, the most painful one was high up on my lower back. But yesterday I had the most pain with one in my glute. After that I was then so stressed and tense I only received 4 needles (approx. 10 on the other sessions). It crossed my mind that it was the doctor, but I heard her talking to another very pleased patient who asked how many needles he had and she replied 20! She tells me that everyone is different and I might still benefit otherwise, but I am disappointed I can't handle more. (She finished me off by using accupressure.) I am thinking that there is something atypical about me: either an alignment issue or energy or just hyper-sensitive. It is true that I have some anxiety to needles. I am thinking that acupuncture may not be right for me. I am also considering seeking some energy work (QiGong or Reiki) because I have some sense that it will help me have better acupunture sessions. Any comment?
