The future IS bright for all LAc's but ONLY if we become STATUTORY MEDICARE

PROVIDERS. That will put LAcs at the top of the totem pole with a high level of

enrty education - even if it's only the low entry standard set by NCCAOM at

1725 hrs (for acu).

 

Yes, the clamor is for more and more acupuncture/OM and naturopathy but if we

can't ever get the official respect and recognition it will all be co-opted

by the MDs/DOs and even the DCs. That's what they are now doing while we become

more and more divided because the many do NOT see the truth as to how they

are hurting that future.

Richard -

Perhaps we agree then. I am not saying that we should not fight for

recognition. In fact I am very active politically, advocating for

insurance parity, ending abbreviated training, prevening misuse of

chinese herbs like ephedra by non-OM practitioners from ruining it

for responsible and trained users like us and other issues that

arise. I would much rather see practitioners spending more time

fighting within the system instead of more education. I think this

will help advance our profession...
