I use a combination of both... Morning and evening I take a teaspoon of MSM dissolved in water, along with 3,000 mgs of Vit C... That is for building/rebuilding collegen and all connective tissues of the body... And we use DMSO as a massage ointment for the bruises, contusions, etc, that do happen on a daily basis, with our horses. For me, having used both the MSM cream and the DMSO cream, the DMSO cream seems to be much more effective. And I do want the best of the best for all my horses! On another note, the garlic effect you mentioned is because of the colon being filled with compacted waste. So the smell is actually coming from that site. So, if there is an ugly smell when you use DMSO on your horse, be sure and notice that he needs a colonic. Have fun.;-)
Guest guest
Hi Doc and Rusty, OK now you've pulled me away from my book and my icy strawberry daiquiri... My dogs and my horses all get MSM daily. I have a 26 year old Arabian that I still ride. She's looks great and moves like a filly. I've used a remedy for years that I learned from a horse " medicine woman " (she's at least 80 years young) who grew up on the race track exercising and training horses. She's the only one I would ever trust with horse leg injuries. When the horses get any type of swelling in the joints from strains, etc., I make a mixture of half Furacin (nitrofurazone)ointment and half DMSO (need the almost pure stuff at 90% or greater concentration) and generously apply to the whole area of swelling. Then wrap the area with saran wrap and wrap a bandage around it (not too tightly) and it sweats it down, removes the pain, increases circulation, speeds healing. Next day they are usually in great shape. This will stave of the invisible western disease of chronic low level inflammation and helps keep all body cells flexible and elastic. Also this will give you powerfully strong nails to shapren for your thumb daggers. This protocol is helpful in achieving the " Sung " state, the polar opposite of rigor mortis. Along with this, do you have other dietary rituals, such as Omega 3 ? BTW; My wife jiust lost her wonder horse, J.J. at 31 years. He was sound until the end when a tendon snapped. 12 Years on MSM and no farrier or vet bills other than routine. And no bute! rty - docspeed2001 Sunday, July 31, 2005 7:56 PM And I do want the best of the best for all my horses! , lwinmorgan <lwinmorgan@s...> wrote: > If you don't want the " garlic' effect of DMSO you can get similar benefits form MSM.
