Guest guest
Re: Opiates Let's put aside issues of " lack of will " and the reason why people turn to these types of drugs as this issue is outside the scope of the the original question and by reasons of the complexity of addition theory, does not even begin to neatly explain why people take drugs... I'd also like to add that there are many medicinal uses of opiates, for example hospice care. I myself thank God that this class of drug is available to help ease my mother as she is currently dying of Lewy Bodies disease (a combo of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease). Instead, back to the original question: When is the " cut off point " so to speak in TCM for when opioids' warming nature turns cold??? I can only assume that it's different for everyone. There are constitutional issues as well as preexisting imbalances to take into consideration. The simple answer is to pay attention to the Tongue and Pulse to figure out the right amount. TONGUE & PULSE people...theory is great but don't forget the basics!!
