Guest guest
Marilyn, I would say the opposite is true. I do acupuncture on pregnant women all the time with no problem. It is a great way to treat morning sickness as well as the aches and pains of the 3rd trimester. Some points are contraindicated, but for an experienced acupuncturist there is no problem. I get REALLY conservative with herbs however. Christopher Vedeler L.Ac., C.Ht. Oasis Acupuncture http://www.oasisacupuncture.com 8233 N. Guest guest
Yes, it is safe to receive acupuncture while pregnant. There are a few contra-indicated points for pregnancy....i.e. deep abdominal or lumbar points in 2nd and 3rd trimester, also a few other points....any licensed acupuncturist should be aware of what to avoid and when....i.e....there are points used to induce labor....very usefull to bring on contractions when needed, even to rotate a breached baby...can prevent a c-section...acupuncture is very usefull during pregnancy....maybe your practitioner is more comfortable with herbs....which also must be carefully chosen for obvious reason......any other questions or concerns....e'mail agalante licensed acupuncturist... --- emailme_marilyn <emailme_marilyn wrote: > i asked her if i can still continue acu when i get > pregnant, she said > ill just take herbs because acupuncture is kinda > dangerous for > pregnant women. but i see alot of pregnant women > doing acupuncture. > does that mean maybe my acupuncturist is not that > experienced in > dealing with pregnant ladies? > > marilyn > > > >
