At the moment I'm taking a break from formal yoga classes until I'm happier that I won't be forcing the asanas anymore. > but I think its really good to stay within lineages > and ask your teacher what he does first.... I'll do my best to map his terms to those I read here. The three lifts, namely: * lifting the crown/bai hui to heaven * lifting the tongue to the palette * gently lifting the perineum/hui yin combined with intention/yi. So, working the penetrating flow/thrusting channel. Guest guest
Here's another thing that might help. First chakra is perineum (muladara, I think). If you tense all the muscles that would contact, say, a bicycle seat, then relax all the ones but the perineum--the one between any orifices in front and in back--you will get a "feel" for the perineum muscle. Then you can learn to purposefully tense and relax that one area. It's kind of like Kegel exercises. You are strenghtening and softening by holding and letting go. Just do a few reps at a time and it will help you get grounded, improve 1st chakra issues. You can do that watching TV, driving, almost anywhere. This advice sits well with me as I cycle to work everyday. Many thanks.
