geo> For those who are not pt of the 5E tradition, maybe this question

will sound unimportant. They will say: " why man... treat another point, leave

this one alone " . But any 5E pt knows that CV-1 is absolutly nescessary

when dealing with a CV/GV block. Well, in females I see no problem,

except for the " strangeness " of the particular location (in the middle of

the perineum). But in male px I DO see a big problem. Any man can make

a simple experiment: -- while urinating, press the perineum over the urethra.

With a small pressure one can block the flow of urine, indicating that the

channel has been interrupted through the pressure of the finger. Now start

moving your finger backwards (towards the anus) and one will conclude

through this very simple experiment that the urethra travels all the way back

untill just a few millimeters from the anus. So, at the recomended depth of

one ACI, most certainly the urethral channael will be punctured, unless the

needle is incerted almost " touching " the anal sphincter - wich is far from

" the middle of the perineum " as recomended. I would like to hear some

advice from someone who have done it, or have seen it being done.

 

Could it be that the interuption of the urine flow in the experiment above,

is some nerve reflex, and not a result of the direct squizing of the urethra?

Or... could it be that perfurating the urethra is not harmful? Or maybe that

the urethra will very simply get out of the way?

 

The reason I am asking this is because I have a male px who may need it.
