Guest guest Posted January 30, 2003 Report Share Posted January 30, 2003 Hi everybody, I am the ownwer of a rough smokey cristal quartz rock. The rock is about a feet tall and 6 to 8 inches width. I would like to know if it is possible to use it in healing or in a meditation activity, or we absolutely need a clear cristal quartz. I really would like to know, because I am starting using stones and cristals , and I am not absolutely sure what we can use. Thanks for your help! Grounding, calming, first chakra work are some suggestions to start. I haven't used smoky quartz much in meditation personally, but it has many uses in healing. This is what I have on my website about it:- QUARTZ; SMOKY – Clears & cleanses on a physical & emotional level. Healing for the entire lower body. Aids change, allowing you to let go of the past & old behavioural patterns, and live in the present. Draws out & absorbs negative energies; replacing them with positive ones. Aids concentration. It can also be used for grounding (which I've just realised I don't have included in the above). Guest guest Posted January 31, 2003 Report Share Posted January 31, 2003 Trilily, Some people don't like smokey quartz because they think it's too dark, but as many others know, there is a great light that smokey quartz emits. Like apache tears (translucent obsidian), smokey quartz can be a great comforter during times of grief. Also, smokey quartz can be used for clearing negativity, grounding, etc. It can calm an overactive solar plexus and an imbalanced root chakra. I use it in Peace Meditations because there's so many areas on Earth where negativity is really heavy. Sending the light of smokey quartz helps alleviate darkened areas on the Earth. Its message is: " Even in the darkest times, there will always be a light to guide you home. " Hope this helps.
