I have a shadow crystal and have not been able to find very much

information on it.

Do you mean the crystals that are most often said to come from

Magaliesburg in South Africa? If so, these are stone spirits that I

know as Grey Tribes of Light Quartz .

 

I have included some excerpts from some listenings and information

that I've shared on my own list. I hope that we're talking about the

same stone spirits.

STONES: Tribes of Light Quartz – General Information

 

 

The Tribes of Light Quartz have become known under many names,

including Magaliesburg Quartz, Cactus Quartz, Spirit Quartz,

Pineapple Quartz, Atlantean Lovestars (though they all insist that

they have no ties with Atlantis whatsoever), etc. Though

Magaliesburg Quartz and Spirit Quartz seem to be the two most

commonly seen names these spirits have expressed to me during my

countless hours of listening to and dancing with them that " Tribes of

Light Quartz " more clearly describes who they are and the medicine

that they carry. As always, we honor what the spirits share with us

and celebrate this moniker fully.

 

There is a bit of misinformation circulating about these spirits and

I hope that I'm able to offer some greater clarity regarding the

Tribes of Light Quartz and their magic.

 

The first piece of misinformation concerns their origins. These stone

spirits emerge from the soils of South Africa, from the womb of the

Earth Mother on the continent of the Great Mother of All. Though

they're often called Magaliesburg Quartz, named for their reputed

origins in the Magaliesburg area, they are actually not from

Magaliesburg at all. The most commonly reported location for these

spirits is the Bushveld Complex in Groblersdal, so Magaliesburg

Quartz is, in truth, a misnomer.

 

Second there is some incorrect information about when these spirits

were discovered and the truth of the matter is even more inspiring

and exciting than the misinformation. Most people didn't become area

of these spirits until sometimes in 2002. The information began

circulating that they were a new discovery, but that's not complete

true.

 

The Tribes of Light Quartz were first discovered nearly 30 years, but

they gained very little attention at the time and for all intents and

purposes vanished from our awareness for decades. Their

recent " discovery " was actually a rediscovery, one that was deeply

important and quite oracular in nature.

 

The stone spirits of Tribes of Light Quartz are at the forefront of

the positive changes and evolutionary leaps that are facing the Earth

Mother and all of us that dance upon, within and around here in these

days. They are pathcutters that are linked to our collective

consciousness and to the expansion into MORE. The fact that they were

first discovered nearly 30 years, vanished and the resurfaced speaks

volumes about the dances of these spirits.

 

When the Tribes of Light Quartz first emerged from the Earth Mother

decades ago the personal and planetary consciousness wasn't ready for

the medicine and wisdom they were carrying deep within them. The

timing wasn't right for them to begin the fullness of their dancing

and to share their gifts with the world in such a direct way. Rather

than allow themselves to come to the attention of many they returned

to the womb of the Earth Magic and resumed work with the whole of

Creation on this planet from a place of deep Love and clear

anticipation, coaching us along to the point where they could emerge

once again and share their extraordinary miracles with us all.

 

The return of the Tribes of Light Quartz signifies that the shift in

consciousness has been made by enough people to make it possible for

these incredible spirits to begin their long awaiting dance in the

fullness of their magic. The very fact that they are here now stands

as a witness to a process that has been in the making for centuries,

one that serves as the fruit of a three decade long preparation for

us to receive these crystals and their medicine fully and freely and

perfectly. YES!!!

 

As you hold these spirits in your hands and to your hearts know that

they have waited timelessly for this moment, working diligently to

support us all in reaching a place where they could be seen, both

literally and spiritually speaking. Their very presence is a deep

affirmation of our collective evolution, a sign that says enough of

us have moved close enough to MORE that the music of the Tribes of

Light Quartz can help to lead us the rest of way into the richness of

that wonder. These are times deserving of much celebration indeed!

 

So, in truth, these spirits are not " new " as much as they are Now.

 

These stone spirits are the very essence of uniqueness. From their

physical forms that defy easy classification to the never before seen

medicine that they bring us in these days, the Tribes of Light Quartz

family emerges with music and magic all their own.

 

Physically these crystals all display a very unique morphology. There

are distinct differences between each type of Tribes of Light Quartz

that will be explored individual during our dances, but as a family

these spirits are truly different. Unlike most Quartz crystals that

are recognized by a shaft with flat sides and a termination at one or

both ends, the Tribes of Light Quartz have a shaft that is completely

covered with countless terminated crystals pointing outward, usually

at a 90 degree angle with the termination – like a myriad of stars

glistening in amazing ways, surrounding the crystal itself in greater

brilliance. The terminations can be complex at times or bear glyphs,

etchings, trigonic marks, phantoms, etc. Though not impossible, it is

extremely rare to find a double terminated Tribes of Light Quartz.

The end result is a crystal that is truly like no other.

There is a great deal of medicine revealed through the ways these

spirits have formed. Their unique bodies, covered in a seemingly

endless number of terminations that spiral around Forever, embody the

medicine of the " cloak of light " – a presence that surrounds the

Earth Mother and all of us in mantles of new radiance, new potential

and new miracles. These crystals literally enshroud us in glistening

robes of great brilliance, like the stars in the heavens and the

light whose presence is increasing within us all.

 

This unique aspect of Tribes of Light Quartz also speaks to the

coming of greater empowerment, of more fully realizing the scope of

who we are and stepping forward in humble strength to express that

completely in our lives. This is a fundamental part of the dances

into MORE that we're engaged in at this very moment and these stone

spirits are opening the way for all of us to know ourselves in

greater ways and to find the avenues through which we can express

that knowing more clearly and truly in our life and world. Tribes of

Light Quartz helps us to break free from all that has held back our

radiance in the past, shedding the inner and outer restrictions that

have kept our light veiled and at arm's length. Now is the moment of

radiance and these stone spirits announce that with undeniable

clarity and presence. YES!!!

 

Many of the Tribes of Light Quartz crystals display trigonic marks,

very powerful sacred geometries that hold medicine that is deeply

transformation and expansive at once. Here is some information from a

previous post about the significance of trigonic marks as they relate

to the Tribes of Light Quartz:

 

" For those of you unfamiliar with the meaning and medicine of

trigonic markings, let me share briefly about them. They were

discussed by JaneAnn Dow in her book called Crystal Journey (one of

the few truly original texts on the stone spirits available and one I

recommend without hesitation!).

 

For many years I had recognized these formations and had been working

with them in my own study, research and dancing but never had a name

for them. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised to read about

them in Ms. Dow's book and to see someone else who recognized that

these were clearly a formation that deserved our attention/intention.

 

She identifies the trigonic markings in a way that is slightly

different than the way I am identifying them here, but after some

brief email discussions on the subject with Ms. Dow and further

dialog with the stone spirits they have affirmed my initial

suppositions on the subject.

 

Trigonic markings are recognized as naturally occurring carved

triangular marks on a crystal, most often on the termination's faces,

that are both etched into (as opposed to raised up from) the stone

and that point in the opposite direction than the termination. These

are often lumped into the category of `record keepers' though they do

not bear the same physical or metaphysical signature of record

keepers at all. They are, in fact, very different.

 

These spirits are truly the Crystal of the Journey. They are the

guides on all meaningful life transitions, all rites of passage that

bring us to new places while aligning us more deeply with mystical

awareness. The sacred geometries of the trigonic markings signal a

passage, a movement from one state to another and a resonance with

the spiritual energies that sustain each stage of the quest.

 

Trigonic spirits extend us and expand us, allowing us to tangible

understand and experience the `MORE' that the stone spirits often

discuss. What is most meaningful about these spirits is that they not

only allow us an understanding of that state but they take us there,

bringing our soul essence into communion with the next phase of our

journey. They are magnetic their capacity to draw us forth, to draw

us forward. They entrain us to the essence of evolution and the

impulse for progress that is seeded in the heart of everything born

in Creation. It is this pulse that refines the physical and spiritual

forms through which we express, a true ascension of essence on all

levels. There is to be no mistake about the fact that the trigonic

stone spirits hold the keys to the ascension process.

 

It makes perfect sense that so many of the Tribes of Light Quartz

would display trigonic markings, markings that are extremely uncommon

(at best) on most other stone spirits. The Tribes of Light Quartz and

the trigonic marks mirror one another perfectly, each initiating the

passage into something new, something greater, something more

incredible than we can even imagine. When these spirits pair with one

another we are given guides for the journey that have been there, who

know every word of the new story and who possess the capacity to take

us there with safety and surety.

 

It is said that a shaman is one that has been to the other side, that

has been to the edge of consciousness and back and that is able to

serve as a guide for those that must make the soul's journey in order

to find levels of healing, balance and radiance previously closed to

them. With that understanding it is clear that both trigonic markings

and Tribes of Light Quartz crystals embody the very essence of the

shaman. "

 

At present we have identified over 15 different types of Tribes of

Light Quartz, each one with different physical and/or spiritual

medicines. There is very little to no information available about

most of these 15+ types and while we cannot cover them all during

this adoption round, we will be sharing a great deal of information

about at least nine of the members of this family, including some

rarely seen.

 

One of the most wonderful things about the Tribes of Light Quartz is

that they all embody the essence of MORE. Some have tried to classify

them as elestials or clusters or this or that, yet they exist

completely outside all of that. They're not so readily classified by

our existing models. This means that in order to know them and their

medicine that we must listen for new models, models that are larger

enough to include what they are and what we are becoming. It is

mistake to try to fit them fully into any existing holes we have

because the Tribes of Light Quartz may touch some of our current

models but primarily dance well beyond them all. That is their gift

to us – stretching to find new ways of understanding and perceiving

and knowing.

STONES: Grey Tribes of Light Quartz

 

 

The Grey Tribes of Light Quartz are a more uncommon member of the

Tribes of Light family, though not uncommon enough that I would

consider them rare. They are Smokey Quartz that expresses itself

through the beauty of the Tribes of Light crystals in a color

spectrum that ranges from a very soft, subtle grey to nearly black in

some cases. What is also extremely interesting about these spirits is

that a number of them are curved, something seldom seen in members of

the other Tribes.

 

Grey Tribes of Light Quartz embody the medicine that releases us from

fear fully and powerfully. They understand all kinds of fear and

further understand the antidote necessary to remove fear from the

equation. They are nearly unparalleled in their ability to allow us

to move beyond fear and, in fact, to transform its very presence

within and around us. Their energy draws fear from us and from the

environment the way one draws toxicity from the body, liberating us

in the dance of release.

 

The spirits of Grey Tribes of Light Quartz also understand that they

can be fears around awakening, if nothing more than a fear of whether

we're able to live up to the fullness of our soul essence. These

spirits see these fears and help us to release them so that they no

longer hold us back or hinder our ability to see MORE. Further,

during these shifts where our entire being is reorienting itself in a

new direction various levels of self can respond with fear born from

moving from one focus to another or shifting the nature of the dance.

Grey Tribes of Light Quartz respond with strong empathy while also

sharing strong medicine that releases the fear itself.

 

For many fear, while unpleasant, is familiar and like all familiar

things we develop a certain comfort level with them, making us

reticent to release them even if they're hurting us or holding us

back. We wonder what would fill the void left by fear, often finding

that prospect scarier than the fear itself. This unproductive pattern

is often what keeps us engaged in dances with fear. The stone spirits

of Grey Tribes of Light Quartz help us to release the willingness to

accept the familiarity of fear in favor of healthier and more

productive possibilities.

 

Grey Tribes of Light Quartz evokes remembering from the deepest

levels of the self, calling forth any remaining facets of self that

are sleeping and singing them into remembering their divinity and the

dance of MORE. These stone spirits evoke the recall of new models and

new realities from our DNA, inspiring sparks of light within the

smallest parts of who we are that bring us to a place of remembering

our future and our destiny, as individuals and as a single global

family.

 

These spirits relate to our physical constitution, of understanding

the way this affects us physically and spiritually. Grey Tribes of

Light Quartz embodies the idea of " dosha " found in Ayurveda. When we

understand the way our body dances then we are able to work with it

in mutually supportive way. These stone spirits support physical

health and can inspire an awareness of practices and dances that

bring us health and balance on all levels. For example, if we would

benefit from drinking more water, getting more rest or eating certain

foods these stone spirits can bring us to those realizations through

their medicine.

 

In a related way Grey Tribes of Light Quartz reminds us that change

must also include physical change in order for it to be fully

grounded and realized. We cannot embrace change conceptually, devoid

of practical implementation, and expect that to be sufficient. If we

have a difficult time expressing changes practically or moving beyond

thinking about changing versus actually taking the steps needed these

spirits help us to embrace a more effective relationship to grounding

and realizing change and transformation. Indigenous people refer to

this as " the head marrying the feet, " where our thoughts and actions

are aligned and working in tandem. In these days of great change it

is important that we involve both of these elements that are vital to

meaningful and tangible change.

 

Grey Tribes of Light Quartz teach us that all great journeys begin

with a certain degree of risk, if only that we're embarking on

something never before explored. However, no great discoveries have

been made without great risks. These spirits embody the spirit of the

adventurer and encourage us to step forward and step out into what is

emerging, because the discoveries that can be made in this dance of

MORE extend well beyond words into music of limitless magic.

 

In moments where we engage in self-pity these spirits lift us beyond

that into a place where we can recognize our needs alongside what we

presently have in a balanced way, and fostering a sense of true

appreciation for what blesses us in each moment. The medicine of

these spirits can reduce a tendency to always complain and to view

the glass as " half empty. "

 

Grey Tribes of Light Quartz help us to break through tough inner and

outer barriers, giving us the energy necessary to overcome them with

greater ease. These spirits help us to see what our limitations teach

us and to understand why we have taken them on at one level or

another. Often these limitations are linked to patterns in our soul

that require attention in this life and serve a much higher and

expanded purpose than we may immediately perceive, a purpose

ultimately linked to our evolution and the strength of our spirits.

If we understand our limitations as boundaries and understand

boundaries as " that which defines " we are able to learn from our

limitations on a number of levels. This is the road to victory and

growth.

 

These spirits enable us to anchor the light of MORE in at a very

physical level. The stone spirits of Grey Tribes of Light Quartz are

also able to offer support for the symptoms our bodies exhibit as we

become lighter and more expanded, helping to ease the discomfort

sometimes associated with becoming light.

 

The spirits of Grey Tribes of Light Quartz are able to help address

and release issues of paranoia and obsessions born from fear.
