Acoustic neuromas are non-malignant tumors that typically grow out of the

inner auditory canal, which is basically a bony tunnel between the brain

and ear. Since they share a confined space in this canal with the auditory

and vestibular systems' blood supplies, acoustic neuromas can disrupt

hearing and balance as they grow or swell.

Radiation usually stops their growth but often doesn't restore hearing. My

understanding is that acupuncture can improve hearing, especially if used

within six months, however, I'm hoping to find someone who is experienced

with specifically treating acoustic neuromas.
