Guest guest
> Some of them literally bug me until I reach the right spot!! - This whole paragraph is fascinating, as is all of your post, Elizabeth. What leads you to the spot? - >She controls her blood pressure herself, - Wow! How? rty - Elizabeth Sleight Friday, June 16, 2006 7:42 AM RE: NST Rusty, My apologies for taking so long to respond. My emails got away from me and I missed this one. I am copying a couple of testimonials from people whose animals I have worked with. This will give you a bit of an idea of some of the results ... " My 9 year old Golden Retriever, Piper had been retired from competitive dog sports for 2 years because of recurring physical problems. He had became very stiff overall and he began to pace rather than trot or run. After one Bowen treatment, Piper was literally a new dog!! His body posture changed completely and he was trotting and running like a young dog. I believe that Piper is now pain free and there is no doubt that he is enjoying life to the fullest. He has returned to the competitive dog sports that he loves so much. " " Thank-you for your work on my pony colt, Knighty. He had a serious injury to his colt's spine from a huge wipeout, and his motor function was impaired. I had tried all sorts of different treatments, some helped a little, some not at all, but the results from only two sessions of Bowen are the most remarkable! Where he could not properly lift his hind feet, or engage his rear end, he is now running and bucking, and trotting out like he did before his accident. What a wonderful thing to see! It was not invasive, it was not painful or stressful in any way to have him treated, and the results are there! Thanks from Jenn and " Knighty " I work by making moves over muscles, tendons etc. - taking slack and then releasing with a rolling motion over the muscle. I learned to treat people and then went on to learn how to treat animals. Bowen was taught in a very procedural fashion, a set of moves in very specific sequences and patterns. A Basic Bowen session will address pretty much the whole body. There are additional patterns to address specific issues. As I have worked with the animals I have found that they tend to indicate very strongly where they need to be worked on and I have now moved away from the strict rules and procedures and go with what I feel I need to do. I do the basic balancing procedures to get the whole body letting go but watch and feel as I work to see what they need in addition. Some of them literally bug me until I reach the right spot!! One of the neat observations is that when I release something that was causing an issue the animal will go into a state of deep, internalized relaxation. Horses often look as if they've been tranquilized and dogs will go and sleep somewhere. When they are ready for the next moves they will come back to full awareness. It is fascinating. With people I have worked on a wide range of issues from ankle pain, restricted shoulders, fibromyalgia ... Mostly with good results but mental attitude will make a huge difference. Those that come in with the " fix me " attitude don't respond as well as the ones that recognize that I am literally firing triggers and that it is their body that determines how to let go. They are the ones than understand about drinking water, not sitting for too long etc. after the treatment and they are the ones that get the stellar results. Is there energy involved? Definitely. People that are sensitive to energy will say that they can feel it in my hands (I have my Reiki Level 2). Some say they can feel my hands there during the pauses between moves even though I am no longer there. I have added some moves around neurovasculars and neurolymphatics and I like to hold the points at the base of the skull off the occipital ridge after I have done releases there. It makes a huge difference. I am working more and more with horses these days, which I love. My human clients tend to be people who have become friends along the way. I have one client who I have taught EFT, Donna's 5 minute routine and several other energy exercises and it has completely transformed her life. She is inspirational in her determination. She controls her blood pressure herself, she has worked through some major issues over her daughter and she keeps herself calm when facing stress. Bowen has allowed her to run when she was having trouble walking and she is mostly pain free. Feel free to email me off list if I can answer any questions. I treat people and animals, mostly horses, with really good results. - This is Exactly what I would like to know more about, Elizabeth. _
