It has the creative, strong, alive feel of the orange stones along with the " thought-full-ness " of the quartz. It's beautiful & full of potential. The crystals don't always seem to enjoy some of the Hip Hop and rap that my youngest adores but seem quite happy with belly dance music. How much my bias effects the energy of the crystals could be a consideration. I don't know that I can help you identify " Steve " perhaps you could post a photo in the photo section so that folks could look at it and of course Listen to the crystal and let the crystal guide you about itself . It really is not essential to know what a crystal or stone is for it to benefit you. Ask " Steve " if he's from Portugal, that might be it. Or not. The other one that comes to mind is one of the hematite included ones, but if what you're looking at is a " coating " , that is likely not it. Some of the golden healers can have a reddish tinge to them, and their color looks like a coating -- perhaps iron?
